Did you know that you can cook with tea? I just came to know that its a high quality ingredient and that you can marinate in tea, cure with tea, smoke with tea, flavor dishes directly with ground leaves or with infusions. Have any of you tried cooking with tea? Please share your experience with us.

I don't cook with tea, neither did I know that it can actually be used for cooking. As you said, it's used to marinate things, how does it taste like after? Is it bitter?

I use tea when making Irish brack bread which is a rich fruit cake. You make a pot of strong tea and soak the fruit and sugar in it overnight before stirring in the other ingredients the next day. The cake has a lovely flavour and very moist.

No, I've never cooked with tea. I'd be interested in hearing about it. Think I will search it on the internet and get some ideas. =)

I think in cakes and other desserts you can. Ice cream possibly? I also suppose breads, but I'm not sure how good they'd taste in actuality. xD
