Well this photo shows some of my garden plants covered Saturday night. Here in Minnesota we had frost on the pumpkin, as the saying goes. I protected my tomatoes and grapes and a few other sensitive vegiies I had grtowing already. So do you get frost in your area in the middle of May? If so, do you cover them to protect them from damage? What do you use? I used a couple towels, an old bedspread, some old pots and a tarp.

I don't know if we got frost, but it sure got cold this weekend.
And after I planted a bunch of seeds, too.
I didn't bother covering anything up, though. How do you cover seeds?

Just lay something over the soil to protect the seeds.
As long as it's not a hard freeze, seeds are okay in a light frost.

We are not experiencing any kind of problems as of now as it is really hot in this part of the globe. In case of any such situation, we try to cover the plants with some or the other green cloth to protect them from the severe weather conditions.

We have had some frost warnings too. My son covered up the plants with bags. He also has some of the plants covered up with a 2 litter pop bottle with the bottom cut off, its like a mini green house. I know we can have frost now but its unusual.

Our last average frost date is May 15, but we had an early warm up this year, so all my garden things are out and even beginning to grow. I was a little worried when we had a cold spell with rain, but it wasn't supposed to get below the high 30's, so I didn't cover anything up. (I know... I have too much faith in the weather forecasters!) When I do have to cover them up, I use sheets. I have some old ones saved just for things like that. You know it's gonna happen, so might as well be prepared. :)

I am sure we have had frost in may, as it gets pretty cold sometimes. I just cannot remember the last time. As for a garden I don't have much of a green thumb.

Its awful that the weather keeps changeing like this, you just don't know what you'r supposed to do, one minute its lovely and warm then the next it cold and rain and windy.

that is really great to see those ice on the vegetables. we don't have that here. i mean the snow. anyways, it is hard to grow plants during cold season i guess.

The weather here is unseasonable cool too, it is not cold enough for frost, if so I haven't heard it announced on the weather channel. I will keep watch because I do not want my plants to die. I am happy to hear that you protected yours. I am just waiting for pictures of your fruits and vegetable.

we're pretty lucky where we live, we dont seem to get such heavy frost as you get in May. i have moved pots etc., into the greenhouse sometimes, but its not a heated greenhouse.just sheltered.
