i agree, but when emotions are running high this does not hold true. so this is a rule that everyone should always bear in mind. if you throw that first punch, be fully prepared to take it if you are dishing it out. do not be shocked when the other person retaliates. so in a nutshell, don't hit others. if you are in a volatile situation, the best course of action is to just walk away, even when the other person is heckling you. do not feel the need to defend your honor, just walk away, because some of those bells cannot be unrung.

Never. It is never ok for a man to hit a woman.
I think the opposite to that is true as well. It is never ok for a woman to hit a man.
Any excuse someone gives would be just that: an excuse. A man or a woman should defend themselves if necessary. But defense does not mean attacking the person back! That only spurs the situation on and nothing constructive gets accomplished!

I don't think that is okay for a normal man to hit a normal woman like that. It just won't justified the situation. Except that particular woman was trying to hurt or harm that man or other innocent people. For self - defense reason. You just have to protect yourself or others by fighting back to that woman. That might find it reasonable.

i think that if a woman hits a man she should fully expect to be hit back, i am so sick of the double standard. if you fight like a man then expect to be hit like one. i do not even really believe in violence. but do not throw that first punch and not expect to be hit back, it is just as bad for a woman to hit a man as it is for a man to hit a woman. i am all about equality between the sexes.

i dunno.. .. for me it is never ok to hit someone esp if its a woman ... an exception if the person has a murderous intent towards the other party.
