Hi anday, when I choose an airline I consider a lot of things. Reliability, service, price and above all direct flight from my home airport. Luckily Emirates, who are by far the best anyway, cover many locations in Asia where I usually spend my holidays and fly direct from Munich to Dubai. So with one change I have a large number of destinations in Asia or Australia that I can fly to.
Within Europe I usually use Lufthansa again because they offer direct flights to many destinations and also because I still have a lot of their air miles accrued during my working days. I have never flown with one of the "low cost" airlines and don't think I ever will.

Hi Colmuc, direct flights are also important. Inconvenience with many layovers are really something to consider. I have not flown with a low cost airline too. I always fly with Cathay Pacific from Philippines to Toronto.I Also tried Singapore Airlines going to Switzerland. One time I flew with British Airways from Toronto to London.

I usually pick my airline on the price. Especially now a days when dollars add up. Of course I have my favorite airlines but I think it comes down to price and whether I can get a one way or connecting. I am not so much for connecting flights, I just want to go from A to B.

Like you I also have my favorite airline. I also like to have a few connections as possible. I always fly with Cathay Pacific. However, lately friends have been flying with Korean Airlines. They say it has bigger cabin and more convenient. PLUS it is $600 cheaper than my favorite airline. So I gueSs I am switching airlines now. So price really comes into play.

Normally as price i choose basic one or economic ..normally i have not so much attention about food, services goodies and so on..even becaus eit is just a flight so..in many cases i will choose the company depending of the time and if there are or not stop before arriving to your destination..so i will check for some and compare usually whe i must come out..

For me the most important thing is price as I´m always short of money.. I think that most airlines can give similar service, being the only important that they take you where you want to go. The food is irrelevant. Food in planes is getting worse day by day but I can eat that food for a day.
Usually cheaper airlines also travel at less comfortable hours of the day. I don´t mind that as I´m capable of sleeping there.
Happy posting!

I normally pick my airline based on price, flight times and where a connection is. I had to connect in the Atlanta, GA airport and vowed I would never do that again! Some times the frequent flyer program will come into play as well. I never really worry about the food. Most any airline these days allows you to bring your own food on board.

I also pick my airlines based on price. Most of these airlines offer the same convenience and safety with some cheaper than the other.

I have three favorite airlines that I have been on so far. If one of them goes to my destination I will choose that airline. I consider price but the quality of the airline like its safety record is far more important to me. I think about the departure and arrival times because these days I take my toddler son. Sometimes a plane is delayed though and that was what happened to us for our flight to South Africa. There was a five hour delay due to fog.

in my case, i choose in terms of the airline's seniority in business with proven track of safety and dependability over all those years. sometimes, the fare also matters but what happens when there is a competition, most businesses give sort of promotions so that they can get back their passengers/clients and this is what i am availing of when i book for tickets.
