How many Types looking at keyboard and how many didnt?

I can type without looking at the keyboard. I was taught this in middle school and since then I've had practice thanks to papers and such. Ultimately whatever works to type quickly is fine even if you need to look at the keyboard. And hey, if you don't need to type quickly in whatever you're doing then it's not an issue. But I think most jobs require enough typing that typing quickly would help out quite a bit. I don't know the best way to learn it though - for me I was taught by having the keyboard covered up and from there having to remember which finger went with which keys and whatnot.

I look at keyboard. It may be I can type without looking at keyboard. but I am not confident enough to do so.

I think that i am a pretty fast typist myself and i can write entire sentences without looking at the keyboard, but my speed also depends on my interest of what i am trying to type, as some things are more interesting then others. P.S.: As i answered a good number of your topics i would like to ask you do the same for me as we will both benefit from it ^_^.

I don't type looking at the keyboard and I have a very good typing speed of 55 to 60 words per minute. Many of my friends type looking at the keyboard , but the y type very fast. One of my former colleages types very fast by using only two fingers.

I am half educated in typing. I used to attend typing classes then I stopped it to concentrate on my studies. So I can type few letters without looking at the keyboard. At other times I have to look at the keyboard while typing. At school when I first came across the keyboard I had to search for each and every letter. Sometimes I had to search long to find a letter. Sometimes I used to wonder if the keyboard was defective and did not have the letter on it.

i can type for the some the keys without looking but some keys i have to see while i was typing, many of them learn typing when they r in schooling, for them its easy to type any thing without seeing, and those who neglected in schooling, they might not get time in their further studies to learn typing, this is my view on typing..... any one can respond on this regarding!

I know how to type but I didn't take any course. I just watched other people type and learn about it. It is fast enough to take a Data Entry Job. :) I can type without looking at the keyboard, or copy word from the book by just look at the book and type. 1% or 2% I might type wrong. You need to learn in order to type fast and professional. well, i wish you good luck

i type pretty fast when i looked at the keyboard but i can also type quite fast even without looking at the keyboard. i am still practicing speed typing without looking in the keyboard cause its part of being a medical transcriptonist. before i can only type 25 words and that is looking in the keyboard, now i can typr 25 words even without looking in the keyboard.

I dont type looking at the keyboard but as they taught us in school the "home row keys" but i dont never use them i just know the keyboard really well so that i dont have to look at the keys when i type i just know what and where the keys are. So i guess you could say i know my typing i can type really fast if i want to or really slow when i want to. i guess it just depends on the person and if they know there own keyboard or not because not all keyboards are the same. SOme of them are bigger than others and have more keys to mess with than others. Just all depends really.

when i started working at the office a few years ago, i always had a fast looked on the key board. that's for almost three years, and some times even today. but for the past few months since i joined mylot and continue typing, there are moments that i really didn't think of looking of the keyboard.it's nice because it helps a lot in my work and some of my co-workers are amazed.

I write so I do a lot of typing but I definitely need to look at the keyboard! I am getting faster but my accuracy leaves a lot to be desired! When I was at school we were taught how to type on the old manual typewriters, I bet you have probably not even seen one before because you are a young thing. Love writing but typing is not my strongest point!

This one is funny, because I have typed without looking for years now, and all of the letters have since rubbed off of my home computer and the one I use at work! It drives my husband nuts when he has to use my computer, because he has to look and type one finger at a time, and he doesn't know what letters are where on my keyboard! I just tell him he should have taken a typing class. It has been the single most valuable tool to me of all of the basic classes I took through all my years of schooling. I can type 55-60 words a minute or more, and I don't have to look at the keyboard! It only took me a couple of minutes to write this. Time management, my friend, time management.

hmm..wen i was in 12th..i used to switch off my room's light and surf internet while my other family members thinks dat i am sleeping..so i used to chat slowly but i can see the keyborad coz dere is not enuf light.. so i used to move on without seeing typing..it was slow in earliar but day by day i practised and got more perfection..n i am currently responding to u widhout looking at keyboard.. u can also try wat i did gudluck

I have to admit that before I would have to look at the keyboard eventhough I would type fast but since I have taken a handful of typing classes and also had to get a keyboarding certification for a job that I was applying for I became very proficient in typing and no longer even look down at the keyboard to see where any of the keys are. There are many sites and software programs that will teach a person how to type. Let me know if you need help in finding one of them or if this is of any interest to you and I will gladly help. =)

I dont look at the keyboard while I type. I took typing courses in High School so I wouldnt have to look at the keyboard. I can type pretty fast for the most part. I dont type as fast as some people but I do type at a good speed.

When I first learned how to type, it was on a typewriter. Typing on that was harder. My speed was slow. But since going over to a keyboard, I am faster. My accuracy holds me back. When I have done a type program, my accuracy is around 90 to 95%. I can type around 35 to 40 words per minute. If I slow down, my accuracy goes up. So my typing is ok, but not good enough to get a typist job.

I don't really look at the keyboard anymore when I type. There's nothing worse than staring at the keyboard or a book while typing and realizing that your page is all messed up or something is wrong and you didn't realize it until it was really bad. They always tell you it's faster to type if you look at the screen, once you get used to it, that is the truth. I also find you make less typos since you see them right away.

If I know what I am typing I am not looking at the keyboard. If I am typing something for someone else like a paper or something then I will glance down every so often.

i think it is better if you learn how to type, it is much easier and fun, sometimes when the keyboard is very old the letter in it is somewhat faded or even erase if you dont know how to type how can you find the letter. learning how to type is like learning how to play a guitar. at first you find it difficult but when you finally learn it you will find it very entertaining yet very useful.

I can type without looking for the most part. I know where all of the letters and numbers are, but otherwise I usually hit the wrong key. It's not as hard as I made it out to be either, after looking at the keys for so long I got a basic feel for where each key was and memorized from there.
