Hiya, I just wanted to know if I was alone in this or not... I didn't really like the new movie. Alot of it just didn't ring true to me. I mean I really love McCoy, and Kirk was good later on... but Spock/Uhura? Spock was her teacher. Neither of them would find that logical. Not to mention the first kiss was asinine enough without a heady make-out at the transport bay. And requests for Kirk to carry a message? Really?!
If you have watched the original you would also know that Uhura, wasn't openly rude to people she just met. I know they are supposed to be the equivalent to college students. But didn't they seem more juvenile? Also what about the rip in time-space? When there's a rip don't you have to fix it? It's been stated time and again that if something is broken you have to fix it. It would cause even more damage and possibly tear through everything. But I digress. Just wanted to know if I was alone...

I didn't really like it either. To me it just signifies that the actors and actresses from the shows and movies that we love are getting too old to act. It's good that they continue with the legacy and that the new movie takes place in the past, before the original series, but personally I would have rather seen a movie based on the Enterprise series.
