yes, I've taken in ANOTHER cat
Like I needed another one.
We got her tested for FIV and FLuk - both negative - and then brought her home and stashed her in my bathroom.
A few days later we ran her by our regular vet and discovered she was already fixed - so that's one less expense for us!
We've named her Zhaan for http://farscape.wikia.com/wiki/Zhaan,_Pa'u_Zotoh so, guess what color she is?
She is NOT impressed with the dogs or the other cats, but she's really a sweet little thing.
Here's a pix of her, and, yes, there is something strange about her right eye.

Hi Elic,
Ohhh, she is so cute but don't matter about her eyes, you really have to look for it anywhay, love her colour too. She will soon get used to the cats now that she is one of the family, just so sweet.

well, she's holding out to be a fussy cat, but then again, Rio never really gets on with the other cats either, she just tollerates them and isn't really friendly - granted she has the size to scare them off, Zhaan doesn't, at least not yet

Cats know who the suckers are.
I have 11. And 3 dogs! Well I have 1 dog and the neighbors dogs just won't go home.
Out of the 11 cats 4 where born at the house and the rest either wandered in on their own or we found them in various locations.
One was at a construction ste and just walked over to our truck and hopped in when I opened the door.

Well Zhaan is a cute little thing. DId you ask the vet about her eye? I wondered if it was an old injury or perhaps a birth defect. At any rate, I personally think it gives her characfter. She sounds like my mother's cat. Sadie wants absolutely nothing to do with the two dogs. She sits just above their reach and looks down on them with utter disdain.

Zhaan is so cute~~~ It is a good thing she's already fix, if not you may need to spend more for that. She may not be impressed with other dogs and cats but she will be as time goes on. She just nervous with the new surrounding. I see one eye is smaller than another in the picture, I wonder why...But who care, she still cute~~~

well, we shaved her tummy and saw the scar, so there's no reason not to think she's fixed
She's already calming a bit, if the cats don't get in her face, and since they are getting used to her smell, they are leaving her alone more
She is a cutie tho

She's probably sustained an injury from a fight with another cat. She'll soon fit in with your other pets, I'm sure. You'll have to start a sanctuary soon, my friend. You're filling up! All praise to you though... you're a very kind person.
Brightest Blessings.

She's a really nice looking cat. I'd say that she's got some Siamese in her - it's the shape of her head and the ears as well that gives me that impression.

ElicBxn, do we have "SUCKERS" written all over our foreheads in bright lights? lol I do have to wonder! I've been taking in strays too left and right so it seems. I've taken in 5 strays from my area because I can not turn any of them away. I don't have the heart to do that to any of them. They've all wondered their way here one way or another and have been here ever since. They'll continue to stay here as long as they want to too. I'm glad too because at least they know they'll be fed and given their yearly shots and when they're sick, they'll get medical attention. I might not be rich but I'll be rich with lots and lots of love and company! And so will YOU!! lol Oh my! my friend! We're in this together for the long haul!

What a sweetie Zhaan is! Love the name, too.
Her color reminds me of my Chewey...(Chewbacca). He's chubby and gray. And a real character. His little sister Mya is a different sort of character. They are both great about most things, but can be mischievous at times. Don't you just love them?
Recently our daughter got married and moved to another state taking her little terrier with her (his name is Macchiatto...can anyone guess what color he is???) They really miss him, although Chewey fought with him most of the time.
We had an issue with cat litter recently. Mya taught me that I should not change things so quickly. She was so mad that she did her doody outside the box! UGH!
I'm glad to have indoor cats. I live in the rurals in the desert. I've had several kitties that would disappear after a while. I never want to do that again! Just when I get so attached they are gone.
We decided to adopt these two from a friend who just couldn't take care of them anymore. They had already had their claws removed (I would not do that myself!). At any rate, couldn't stand the thought of them ending up at the Humane Society and since they are older (9 years old), I was afraid they would put them down. This house is their castle! We just love them!

awww, that's sweet, are you an sf fan? or were the previous owners?
Yeah, cats are really conservative about change.
Zoe, the roomie's dog, loves Taj, her "kitty" and Booboo, who likes dogs - its fun to watch her with the cats - and then some cats hate the dogs, oh well.

[b]Cat Fancy magazine's latest issue has a great article on making America a "no-kill" nation for cats & dogs. Everyone here should read it & see how we can all help it happen. Austin (Where Elic & I live) is trying to become a no-kill city. There's a county next to ours that has a no-kill shelter.
Things are looking up for strays! Even in this rotten (& soon to be rottener) economy, we can all pitch in to do our bit for the fur people among us!

The previous owners named them. My four year old granddaughter (Mya) was just thrilled that I got a kitty named Mya. =)
Chewey doesn't hate all dogs, he had a great relationship with the previous owner's dog. He didn't hate Mac either...just loved to antagonize him. They were a pair!

She looks part Siamese. Yes, you are a big softy. I bet all the cats in the neighborhood come to your door. Oh what is FLV and Fluk? You stashed her in the bathroom, huh? Afraid the other cats will take up picket signs or are jealous?
So did you get her at the SPCA or did someone come door to door or did she just show up on her own?
Requiring minds want to know.

She does have a Siamese-ie head. I do feed the strays when they come up, but I don't see the strays every day.
FIV is Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, and FLuk a/k/a FLV is feline leukemia virus.
No we put her in the bathroom so she and the other cats would get a chance to smell each other's scent before she was forced to interact with them.
And we got her from the roomie's folks, she's been hanging out at their house for a few months.

Very nice cat and I find you gave her a really original name ! It's a good thing that she doesn't have any disease because that's when pets may take a fortune to handle them. I hope you will enjoy it !

I honestly couldn't have taken the chance to bring her into the house hold if she had been sick, the only reason that we have Timus was because he tested negative when we got him. We can only guess that he was at that in between time where he's been infected but not showing yet. Well, since we've had him almost 6 years - he's mine.

Aw, what a cutie! I love animals, especially cats, so I really can't blame you for picking up another. I would too if my landlord would let me!
Just out of curiosity, how many pets do you have? I have two cats and a dog, but I live in a small apartment, so one cat and the dog live with my parents. They have a nice big yard for them to play in, so they're much happier there.
