Do having a girlfriend or boyfriend while studying is good for the students?

I experienced to be courted many times when I was still in high school. They send me their pictures with a love letter. And sometimes, some suitors wait for classes to finish and then look for me so they can take me home. Although, I am not accepting suitors,those guys are the one who is persisting to court me.There was also a time when my parents read accidentally one of love letters that one of my suitors gave to me. Mom raise in anger and thinks of putting me in another school. She said, it is not good for me to have suitors while I am still studying.And worse is that, I shouldn't have a boyfriend because that is just an obstacle to my studies. However, my dad is exactly the opposite of my mom. He said that it's good to have an inspiration. Well, I did not take seriously my suitors. And I graduate in high school having no experience at all what it is like to have a bf in high school. When I was already in 4th year college, that is the time I think I am already prepared for a relationship. So, it was on my last year of college that I have my boyfriend.Nothing bad happened even though I have a boyfriend while I am still studying. In fact, he became one of my inspiration to be graduated as with distinction in the university and to pass the board exam for teachers. How about you? What is your opinion having a bf or gf while still studying?
