Daft rules in swimming pools?

I went swimming to an indoor swimming pool at the weekend for the first time in many years and took my mask along. The 'lifeguards' would not allow me to use the mask!When I asked why, they said if I crashed into the wall they would not be able to remove the mask to resuscitate me!What absolute nonsense!Have you had any similar problems in swimming pools?What ridiculous rules have you come across when trying to have fun?
