Are you afraid to walking in the night, on the street or in park?

Its really not that safe to walk alone in the night here in our place..but for some reason I'm not really afraid. Guess I just don't really have a choice as I work at 1AM so I go to work really late, and thank God I haven't experience anything bad.

I don't feel safe at ALL when it comes to being alone at night in the city. I would always have to be with someone, better yet a group or I will just stay my happy self home. There are too many horrible things that go on at night, and I wouldn't want to get caught up in it. Just a month ago a couple was kidnapped and killed when they were out at 3 in the moring and such. I just wouldn't risk it.

No problem for me and my kids over here in Germany, neither village nor town nor city. When we had an exchange student here from Mexico, this was kind of a new liberty to him. Also I feel safe for my life in my second homeland, Romania. But once I was robbed for some small money on a Sunday afternoon .... even across the street from police. Poor young guys ... God bless you for this.

It is dangerous, but I can't help myself - I love night. I never feel freer than when I am alone, outside at nighttime. And if I let some low-lives to scare me then they are winning, and I can't let that happen.

I don't like to walk outside at night. It's not safe. And, I live in a really safe community. Yet, I know that most times criminals commit crimes of opportunity. I don't want to give criminals the opportunity.

Doing this is very dangerous here in Trinidad. There is too much crime. I do like to walk around at night especially in the park and its nice to sit around and take in all the city lights and the open sky and all that. But right now its much too dangerous to do that in Trinidad.

I don't really go out at night... and its not safe as well. before when i was still working, especially if i'm in a graveyard shift, i always make sure that I don't bring things which is really important to me. and i never goes home at dawn... :)

It is simply not safe to walk the streets alone. This is true for both men and women. Anything might happen so it is better to be extra vigilant and cautious. Other wise a person might get stuck in some bad situation and they will have a hard time getting out of the mess. Better to be extra cautious ans safe than sorry. Use public transport whenever possible. Walk with a few people. Wear full clothes which do not attract any type of attention. Forget the fashion thing. Some type of clothes will attract unwanted attention also especially on lonely roads.

i would never walk at night by myself and not sure if i would feel much safer with another person either unless they were the hulk or something. i think people need to be more aware of their surroundings and also realize that the freaks come out at night and it is just not safe to be walking during that time.

i am not afraid to walk during the late nights. i know that its not safe to stay during the late nights but i became used to it, so far i had never encountered anything that is life threatening like a hold upper. our community is safe but there are times where gang wars are expected. me and a girl friend of mine had stayed till 6 in the morning in the bay area and nothing had happened to us.

i will afraid of walking alone in any part of city in the night. no matter on the street or in park.. lol..park isnt so safe,but street would be better..bcz u can see some safeguard theere...

hi well sometimes fear walking all alone in the midnight.and it is to some extent but not totally secured. and girls and women going all alone in the night is not at all safe.there are chances that they maybe raped.and it is always better to walk with some other person,dont know what may happen,we may be losing our valuables to thieves. happy mylotting

Hello Icesmile! In my country (Philippines) there is no problem even if i go home early morning specially in Makati City because it is the business center of my country and the city is alive 24/7. There are lots of working people from Call Centers who don't have to worry for transportation because it is readily available and there are Police patrols also. But in the country to where i stay now, nopes, i don't think i can be safe here on my own and walk the street at night without anyone to accompany me. Besides, i don't want to go outside and most establishments were closed and there are no Police to patrol.

it is not safe to walk at night by my self in my neighbor i don't know any place that is realy safe to go by your self .it used to be safe .i used to walk at night where i used to live i knew most of the people around my home.

Where i live its not exactly a Bright idea to walk alone at night. I have done it a few times im not scared or afraid to do it but just very careful about it. streets are not safe around here you have people killing other people at night and in parks. I think all the parks around here have now when to time limits i think after 9 you cant be in the parks and they have officers riding around to make sure no one is there but thats not going to help much really cause people just dont care and will kill just because of any small thing.

Walking alone at night in the past times would have been safer nowadays. However, i am not at ease if i do walk alone at night but it would depend on the time and the place where i would be walking alone. if its earlier before 10 PM it would safe for me as long as i know where i am or i am familiar with the street or the location. But if its late i would usually be cautious though a few times i walked down the path to our house at dawn and nothing really happened. i was safe home right after. we just really need to be cautious and be prepared to defend ourselves if the worse and the unexpected happens. =)

Street safety in my country depends on the place. There are places where are really crime prone, especially those dimly lit areas and criminal infested areas. I am afraid too to walk alone in the night, especially in areas where I know it is not safe like in big cities. It is much safer to walk with a friend in dimly lit areas. It is not safe to walk alone at night especially in big cities, anything can happen and you should always be on guard for your safety.

when i walking in the night, the feeling is not afraid of something but loneliness. while you are walking, you are thinking.

not really, e4specially when i am in an area where there is some degree of sanity and security, in south Africa, the streets does not look safe even in the day time, everyone is watching over his or her shoulders, so it will be ideal to walk around as fast as you can otherwise you may get attacked and lose your belongings

a study has revealed that 56% of british woman and 36% of men are afraid to walk alone at night in their neighbourhood. maybe they afraid that they might be the next victim of street crime as we always heard in tv. i think there weren,t enough police patrolling in their area
