Nowadays, Mr Been films are very popular. His funny face and his stiffy way of doing daily things make us happy. As Victor Hugo said, 'Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face'. Enjoy some humourous films will make people happy and forget our trouble for a while. In fact, Mr.Been reminds me of Charlie Chaplin, who is the master of nonverbal humour. He was loved for his famous character--the little Tramp, who was a social failure but was loved for his optimism and determination to overcome all difficulties. But for my students, they find it difficult to understand Charlie Chaplin's humour. Instead, they like Mr.Been better. However, I think Charlie Chaplin's films are more worthwhile to enjoy, for they are classical. What about you? Which do you like better, Mr Been or Charlie Chaplin? Thanks for your response. :)

I like mr chaplin Just something about him you know . My brother has done many acts and studied him so I suppose that helps me to like one more than another . Just a true classic . I have seen the other man as well and have enjoyed him too , but not as much . Peace

I like Charlie chaplin. His comedies even stir the present day audiences. They are ever green comedies. The motion picture with no dialogues is very interesting to watch . Charlie chaplin is a legend who cannot be compared with anyone. You cannot compare him with Been . Been . according to me is somewhat artificial in comedy . He has delivered some good comedies , but on comparison with Charlie , he is nothing. It is very strange that your students dont understand Charlie's humour , even an average person can comprehend Charlie's comedies . Charlie's comedies are for allages , from a small child to an old person. Myself and my father are big fans of Charlie chaplin.

Yeah, I guite agree with you. But I put them together just because they are famous actors in mime. :) I think why my students find it difficult to understand the humour in Chaplin's film is because the different cultures and totally different background. Today, after I told them the background of Charlie Chaplin's films, they become interested in his films and understand the humour better. Thanks for your response. Good day.

This is an interesting discussion question and one that I would be able to answer to the best of my ability as I have seen a few films and clips of both Mr. Bean and Charlie Chaplin. In college I had enrolled in a class that was an art of film class in which we watched several classic films and got to know why they were made into classics along with the camera angles that were used, the dialog and the plot. One of the films that we covered in that class was a film that was done starring Charlie Chaplin called City lights. This film was brilliant and the humor by Charlie Chaplin was ahead of it's time. On the other hand, Mr. beans comedy and seeing the facial expressions that he does is good for a quick laugh but it is not of quality in my opinion. So definitely as ibelle09 has mentioned a classic is a classic and that is why I would have to go with Charlie Chaplin himself. =)

Hi, Harry. As a matter of fact, I also I had enrolled in a class which focuses on how to appreciate classic films. It is in this class that I started to know how brilliant Chaplin was and is! My students are too young to understand his humour and they need some guidence. :) Good day.
