Do you get suntanned very easily when exposed to the sun?

suntan - I get suntanned very easily if I am exposed to the strong sun.

It was very good weather yesterday because it was sunny. I rode my bike to the town to do some shopping in the big supermarket. When I got home from the town, I found my arms burnt and suntanned. Today (May20th, 2009) my arms are red and I know that it won't be long before they are dark like I used to as usual when summer comes. What is terrible is that I don't like to use suntan lotion for the protection of my skin. What is your story, please? Do you get an easy suntan, please?

I'm the type that will burn first than it turns into a tan. I only wish I could be tan all year round. It makes me look better and younger plus happier for some reason.

You are just like one of my American colleagues, who loves to get suntanned. She said that she loves it as it makes her look healthier for her being so light in color.

Hello haiershen. I seldom use the umbrella when going out alone in summer unless I go together with my wife. I think that it is a good idea to use an umbrella to protect ourselves from the heat of the sun.

Hi jisir, the weather in my place is scorching hot year in or year out. I hate to go out in daytime for I would get suntanned easily. frankly to tell you, almost all the women and girls here don’t like to see sunburn on our skin. We feel that our appearance would look ugly or indecent with suntanned skin. In case we have to go out during daytime we usually will bring umbrella or wear clothes with long sleeves if we really don’t like applying sunburn lotion. At the moment we could avoid form the sunburn by driving our auto straight away to the indoor car park of a hypermarket Yeah, we are lucky to have such convenient facility since this nearby hypermarket was launched two years back. Happy posting and have a nice day!

Hello lkbooi. It is so nice to have a hypermarket close to where you live so that you won't get sunburned too much. Ladies, whether young or old in my country, also like to keep their skin fair without getting it darkened by the sun. I can understand that from the angle of beauty.

yes, I am easily burn hahah I mean my skin easily get sub burn when I am exposed to the sun. It hurts, that is why I don't like to have too much exposure during summer because it takes time for me to get back my normal skin.. hehehe it is stressful for me because I don't want to have a tanned skin.

Hello Beb. Many people I know do not want to have it as well. It is a long time for me to have my tanned skin back to normal, usually it is after winter. What a long time though!

I used to tan pretty easily, and sometimes my burn still turns into a tan. But within the past 5 years or so, my skin has become a lot more sensitive. I think that is because I now have a job indoors, whereas previously, I worked primarily outdoors. So my skin is not used to consistent sun exposure. I don't get out much, is what I'm basically saying, LOL. I went to the FL Keys last month for a weekend, and I wore long sleeves most of the time and wore sunscreen and everything. I still got burned in some places, but it was very light, so it turned into a tan. I did peel a little. I don't take chances with the sun anymore. I limit my exposure, try to use sunscreen, and wear protective clothing if I'm going to be out all day.

Hello cobra. I am glad that this time my skin was not that sunburned as to peel, but I used to have this experience before when the summer sun was too strong.

Yeah, that sun can be ruthless sometimes. It also depends on where you are. If you are on a beach, there is little cover for you to take refuge under, and the water reflects even more sunlight onto you. It also depends on where you are on the Earth. The closer to the equator, the hotter the sun. I think holes in the ozone layer don't help either. Most of those occur around large cities and places where there are huge population numbers, and thus, more pollution in the atmosphere.

I tan super easily. Luckily it takes kind of a lot for me to burn, but my skin does still get dried out even if it doesn't burn. I like having the golden glow, but I know it can still cause problems in the future, so I try to pace myself throughout the summer.

Hello harmonee. Certain amount of suntan is ok, but too much suntan could cause some problems to our skin, I guess. Good day, friend.

Being an Indian, I am kind of born under the sun so I dont bother about sun tan. I believe I was born much fairer than what I am today and similarly my son was born paper white but now like me he's a shade of golden wheat...that might be the sun tan but I am not overly bothered. Like you, I dislike using the sunscreen lotion coz in this heat, it causes the skin to sweat excessively. Its only at the beaches that I really notice the tan on my skin (the skin becomes burnt black, really) and I have to carry my suntan lotion.

I burn if I'm exposed too long and I rarely get a good tan. I get a slight bit of tanned color to me, but mostly I just burn or get no color at all. I usually forget to put on any kind of sunscreen.

Hello Flight. Nice to read your response. Long time no see. I wonder how you have been doing, my dear friend? It is good that you don't get color at all, but I do if I stay outside in the blazing sun for an hour or so at noon. It will take the whole winter before my skin color gets to normal color. Take care, friend.

I am tan and I won't notice if I get darker or not. I love my skin color. But there are times when people say I look darker and then that's the time I will look at my skin and tell myself Oh yes, I am darker than before. I use sun block to protect my skin from the UV rays. It is very important to me.

Hi william... I easily get sunburn that's why I never get out of the house without my handy umbrella. And I'm more careful when it comes to skin care. That's why I never leave the house without applying any lotion. We age fast especially when we're always exposed to the sun. And it shows on our skin. I learned my lesson last year. My feet were the most affected. The skin was very dry and my skin seem to get wounds easily. That's the time that I made sure I make it a point to take good care of my skin.

Hello my dear jcj. Long time no see. I am glad to know that people age fast while always exposing to the sun. So we must be careful not to so much suntan to keep ourselves look younger in the skin or appearance. Good day to you, friend.

So I don't get any suntan effect, so far. Here quit warm, William, recorded current peak temperature is at 35ºC. How's about it at your living place?

Hello Michael. Right now as it is raining, the temperature is twenty degree centigrade. It is a little bit cool today. I am thinking of wearing long sleeve shirt if it is still so cool tomorrow morning. Morning sun is ok. Noon sun is very hot. It is better not get sunburn at noon time and afternoon time.

When I was a child I did. But with the instances of skin cancer on the rise I am much more careful now. My grandfather has been treated a few times for skin cancer on his arm and face. There is a new spray sunscreen that is SPF 70. My family has started using it.

well, I generally avoid going out in the Sun when it is very hot in the Summers afternoon . The temperature may go up to 44 Degree Plus here in Delhi in extreme summers .This was the case during early May . It was a similar case on Sunday when the temperature was close to 42+ Degrees Celsius . However, sometimes it is unavoidable to go out during such times . I do not get tanned as such .However,I do feel uncomfortable ; and if the humidity is high;I might sweat also . I try to drink lots of water ,try to cover my head also . I wear loose cotton clothes in which I do not sweat much .

That's a very interesting question. I am easy to have suntan. After the trip from Hainan, I am darker:) Especially my shoulders are red and it is burning. In fact I had used the sunblock but I didn't think it worked so well enough. But it's OK, I don't really mind it. After a winter, my skin will be back to normal:) The most important is we did enjoy the sunshine trip:) I love China

Good evening, youless. I am glad that you had a wonderful trip to Hainan. It is a very beautiful island that I have never been to. I guess that it is very hot there, but with sea breeze. I also have to wait till after the winter before my skin comes back to normal color again. But it is ok because I don't care too much about it.

I wish, you are very lucky. I am a natural redhead and all I do is burn. The only color I have to my skin are my freckles. LOL. I would suspect if I let myself be exposed to as much sun as you did yesterday I would have a severe sunburn that would make me sick.
