Do you prefer Renaissance faires or SCA events?

I have never been to a renaissance faire, but it seems like it'd be a lot of fun. I have been to a few SCA events and I had a great time. As far as I know the difference between the 2 is that the SCA is a non profit organization where as ren-faires are for profit. I'm wondering if that's accurate, if not what the differences are, and which one you prefer and why?

Definitely SCA events. Ren Faires are there to make money, SCAdian events are there to have fun. I don't go to watch a show and have people try to part me from my hard earned money, I go to have fun. Its also nicer that at an SCA event, people are being THEIR interpretation of a medieval person, rather than trying to BE a real medieval person (i.e. Queen Elizabeth), and if you are working at a Ren Faire you can PLAY a royal person, in the SCA, you have the opportunity to BE a royal person (my b/f and I compete in Crown Tournaments every year, which means that if we win, we will be King and Queen, not just playing one... understand the difference?)
