I tried to talk to my boyfriend about the first amendment and the constitution, and he knew next to nothing about it :( and my father was the same way, it was frustrating because i have all of these things i want to discuss issues someone who knows what im talking about, but the 2 people i thought i could do that with, are lacking BADLY in knowledge....has something similar ever happened in your life?

Yes it could happen many times , often we think our seniors might be knowing the solution for this but it just turns out to be another way . Many people lack interst in that field thats why they might not keep the knowledge of it . I have came across many of my cousins and uncles who lack certain knowledge .

I have a few family members who were born and raised in a religious background that really did not promote higher education. Why would they have needed it since it was thought they were going to work on the farm?
Anyway, the problem I have is that my mother and father always pushed me to succeed, to know, to get high marks on tests, to do MY best, and if I didn't do what THEY thought was MY best (were they living vicariously through me?) I was told that I was not achieving my potential.
And now I'm supposed to be tolerent of these people who didn't have the education I did, when there's no way in hell the people who want me to be tolerent, would have been tolerent of me had I not been educated.... if that makes any sense.
Not interested in running around in circles, I grew up and married a genius!!!!
I mean I LOVE all the people in my family, I just have a hard time when someone pushes me for years and years, and then expects me to understand those less exucated.... if that makes sense.
