Well, I will say honesty will be best in this case. If you had tried calling your cell phone, and the person who pick up your phone had the sim card removed, I guess there's no other way. Tell your parents about this honestly, and also quickly report the loss of the cell phone to the telecommunication company (if you had not done so). This is to prevent people from using your lost phone to make lots of phone calls and jack up the bills.
Hope this helps.

Do you remember where you last had your cell phone, and where you had lost it? You can try looking for it there. If not, as I had mentioned earlier, do try and call your cell phone. If the person who pick it up is honest, he/she will pick up the phone. If the person disconnect the line when you are calling, or you could not reach your cell phone after some time, chances are that it will be hard to find it. You can make a police report and also should report this matter to the telecommunication company to have the line locked. Please do report the loss soonest if possible.

i think the word that you are looking for is tell, not convince. you want to know how to tell your parents that you lost your phone? i guess you could pretend that you had just lost it when you tell them. just be like..."hey mom, dad, i cant find my phone anywhere, i had it this morning, but now its gone, did any of you two move it somewhere, or did i just misplace it? could you help me find it, or keep a lookout for it?" try that and see what happens.

That's really a good idea. But you know what if you tell this then also you have to listen lots of thing. Because N95 is very costly and all the parents want us to take care of the things. Again I am sure that our parents are intelligent enough to catch that when we are bluffing. But when there is nothing to say then your words is the only option.

I guess you should just explain the truth of what has happened. Even though you gotta have to listen to all nagging and other, it gonna be worse if you try to hide it in any way and they found out after that. You don't wanna face the consequence at that time.
