How to make something funny in the class of teaching elementary school students?

I luckily got a chance to assist to improve schooling in backward areas for one day.But I've no idea how to make the class lively!I may have 40minutes to teach,how can I make fully use of the time?What topic may attract the students most?

Am not sure, about the subject you have to teach them, however, as far as I know about the kids, they love to listen to stories. So if you are able to explain all the chapters as much as possible in the form of stories, but the moral of the story should come out to be the thing you want to teach them. This can be proved to be a good way of teaching with fun. The kids will really enjoy your class. So are you a good story teller?

Thank you very much!I believe that I'm a good story teller,hehe! I'm a Chinese,and I'm going to teach them English!Of course,the content won't be too complicated,but I want to find a different way of teaching,not just make them learn a few words and do some boring games.That's what I'm bothering about~

But story telling is the best proved way of teaching, as far as I know. May be you find if boring, personally.

You also can take a notebook, prepare some cartoon for them, like the Disney or Bluecat(lanmao) learning English series.
