I'm planning to buy a new laptop next month. i'm using a dell laptop which is 2 yrs old. I want to upgrade to a new laptop. I've two options, Apple and Dell. i tired of using windows platform and would like to experience mac platform.
I'm very proud of my current dell laptop. I never faced any issues with dell.they are very good in customer service also. What do you think? Which brand should i buy?

Ya Dell and Apple will definitely be my final two choices too.The new Mac platform is really good to use and visually too it is brilliant. They have got a nice inter phase.Macbook Pro will be a very good option.
Also the new Dell XPS series gives a superb performance.
But I would recommend going for the apple as it would give a new experience cpmbined with great performance. Also since you said you were tired of using windows apple would be the right choice for you.
Moreover you can make windows to coexist with the Mac operating system. So even if you didn't like the Mac you can always go back to windows. You are never stuck with mac.
Anyway best of luck wit your new lap.

it depends from your needs!!So i think in many cases to buy a good laptop for you you must think which characteristics are essential to your needs and which one they are not so important considering your daily use on your laptop!!lastly even the budget is important to understand which kind of brands are suitable for you!!
personally as laptop's brand i like Hp and Ibm (even if now,the linking with lenovo give not so much improvement to ibm laptop);as regards dell i like them but i never bought one..but i always heard really good feedback from people buyed this brand!!
As regards Apple i don't like very much..such as laptop as regards style and design are very interesting and beautiful but as regards Os and policy linked to softwares i don't like apple very much;In fact they are too much ownership and so you must pay big money for everykind of software you want!!Considering also that a apple laptop is very expensive basically, even if sometimes technical configuration is the same of soem others pc!!
You want change your software platform?you can buy a pc and install a Linux distro you like..i found them very useful, stable, smart and safe..and also all softwares are open source and you can have them very much useful and really good!!
On my laptop,it is an Hp,i installed 2 os (1 windows,1 linux ubuntu)and i feel really good even if now it happened to me to use much more Linux than Windows!!

Apple for me is the best. If i have the money i would go and buy an Apple. I have nothing against Dell but I just like the interface of Apple and its very easy. But again it depends on you if you are more comfortable with Dell since you have Dell already.

Apple Apple Apple . I can not stress that anyones next laptop should be from Apple. I have had a Dell (or 2) before and my cousin recently went and bought a new Dell (even after I warned him not to) and the problems in just setting it up is a nightmare. When you open your new Mac . . it smiles at you and never stops. And I mean that in everyway. You get on the internet in record time without having to do anything. And the customer service is 10 star. Have you ever tried to call Dell? Not only do they loop you around just to figure out who it is you have to talk to but they can never really help you . .they say oh sorry you will have to contact someone else for that for it isnt a Dell issue. Well when you get an Apple not only do you get a real live person immediately but they actually help you and check back with you until whatever is resolved.
The only issue I have had was with my battery. I looked battery up on the Apple site and it told me what to do to check what might be wrong. And sure enough there was something wrong with my battery so I called Apple and the next day there was Fed Ex delivering me a new battery .. and not only did Apple pick up the tab for the Fed Ex but they sent me a tear off receipt so that all I had to do was call Fed Ex back for a pick up (again Apple prepaid this)
Issue resolved and they even sent me an email making sure I was satisfied.
So in conclusion..... BUY A MAC!

Hiya:
I have used a lot of different computers, and I used Dell several times.
Unlike you, I wasn't as like with my Dells.
I switched to a Mac, and it was the best thing that i could have ever done (until it got stolen, so now, regretfully, I am back using Vista)
On the plus side, I use computers very heavily, and I didn't manage to crash the mac at all. As whether with normal computers, it crashes a lot because i run out of resources.
On another note, i think there is only 1 virus for Mac.
I could go on, and give you a huge list as to why i love mac, but the ultimate decission is yours.
I recommend you to read some reviews online before your purchase.
But honestly, i was like you, tired of using the same platform.
Trust me, switch, you'll never look back!

Hi websitekid,I recommend you to choose Dell laptop .It is good plan to use MAc OS .you can experience another new kind of OS .but it is not very good idea to quit windows platform .I have a HP laptop 3 years ,i use windows XP for 3 years. I do not use MAC system any more ,but i hear of it .some softwares will be not compatible with MAC system ,because many software is based on windows! So i prefer the dell laptop and windows paltform!

It depends on your budget. A new Apple notebook is never cheap. But it has great performance especially for multimedia author. If your working field is multimedia producing, then Apple notebook is the best notebook for you. Windows is great too but it has many problem with vurnelabilities. But if you have good computer skills, it doesn't a matter to buy Windows platform again. Talking about the brand, Apple and Dell are totally different in notebook. So it also depends on your needs. Recently i heard that Adamo was launched for compete with MacBook Air as the thinnest notebook in the world. Good luck and have a nice day. Happy mylotting.
