I've been beaten by the "lost interest on my lot bug"

May 20, 2009 1:41pm CST
Dear Friends.. I'm not sure how to word this discussion but I'll try my best to explain. I think I am slowly loosing interest in my lot and I don't know why. Every time I log into my lot I'm not motivated to start discussions or respond to other discussions. I just feel very bored with my lot as I think all the discussions are multiple repeats.. I don't want to lose my interest here but its slowly creeping in. I love all the people here but for some reason I feel not intrested. Am I going through a phase or something? Have you felt the same too? I want to get rid of it.. what do I do it?

Some of us noticed you were not responding on a response you made on a dsicussion the other day. Have you got your notifiers on? There was a lot to be said over there As for repeated topics, well some may well be but since myLot launched over 2 million discussions have been started. At least half of them must still be there hidden in the profiles of the users so there is no need to start new ones. Or maybe you should go take a walk, a breath of fresh air and maybe when you return you will have new ideas? In two years I have never felt like you feel at all (just as I said to another user on another discussion earlier - is it contagious? )

Well I guess its just a phase jellymonty. I've been there...I've been gone for myLot for like a year, and then for some reason I got interested in this again and here, I'm back. . So hopefully its just a phase as well for you.

I think that everyone goes through a phase where they just aren't having as much fun on here and are losing interest in the site. I think it happens about the time that people realize their are repeat discussions and that we can't do anything but report them to stop it. This discussion has been repeated but I won't report it because this is an issue everyone faces. I hope we can all do something to help you not lose interest in mylot. Surf through the discussions of your responders, add the comment preference which can be found under preferences and get mylot emails sent to you. It will help organize your time, and possibly make it easier to make money faster if that's what you want, or it will drive discussions that interested you back to you to respond with over and over again!

Ah yes. I was wondering when Id see a discussion expressing the same sentiment as yours.^_^ It is just part of the 'mylot cycle' or mylot fever or however you wanna call it. I say its a cycle because people usually come in here with the best of intentions, wanting to earn some extra online then finding themselves quite addicted to the site after all. After about a month or two(depends) or posting like crazy and being on the site everyday, wanting to be on myLot every minute, putting off chores and assignments just to 'post one last more'. Then the excitement has gone down a bit. You dont feel like doing much of anything on the site but still cant help not logging in. You'd just end up reading the discussions or maybe even forget the tab. Is that the gist of it? or something close to it? You just need a myLot break. Take time off, pick another hobby or site to be active in, play a game, spend more time offline. You just might come back after a time. Then the turmoil or mylot withdrawal syndrome or whatever will die down. You'll be able to control your time and amount of posts while on the site. Then it would be up to you but you just might find yourself logging in and participating once in a while.^_^

11 hours...as in... straight?? Well I always make it a point to take an hour or two break after being online for 5 hours straight.LOL Samba dancing, oooh! That would be really nice. It would sure be fun time. Enjoy!
20 May 09
yes that explains me exactly!!! There was a time I posted so much that I didn't even realize I was hungry.. spent 11 hours straight which is madness as I don't spend that much time online. I think I've exhausted my mojo or grove so I'm going to do a bit of samba dancing... that should start the cure process.. cheers

I think that is only natural. The novelty of it will wear off, especially if you have been spending a lot of time here. Just log in every once in a while, so that you dont lose any earnings. Then post when you feel like it! Hope to see more of you when you find some motivation to be on here again!

My best advice I can offer someone that comes here stating they've lost interest in Mylot is to simply take a break. I have to take breaks here all the time because I grow bored and tired of Mylot. If I didn't take breaks, there is no way I'd be able to come here and post good discussions and replies. It just doesn't work when I'm not in the mood to be here.

When I feel like that, I just take a break for a while and do other things. Hope you feel better about here soon, jelly!

I've been feeling the same! I've been about 2 dollars away from payout for the past two months and every time I come in, I only respond to a couple of discussions and don't feel motivated either. I agree that many of the discussions are repeated and some of them are just too mindless to even bother answering. I will take a break for a few days and check back to see if there is anything interesting to respond to and to check up on my friends. Perhaps a break from your mylot routine will help as well!

Definately take a break from it! I came on every day for a few weeks when I first signed up then I lost interest. I haven't been on here in months now but I just came back a few days ago and I'm really enjoying it again!

I'm going through the same thing as you. I can't seem to get into it lately. For awhile I was doing great and made my payout. Now I can't seem to get into any discussions and have a long ways to go to get to my payout. Maybe a break will help. I don't know. Good luck.

Hi jellymonty, I am sure you are just going through one of those phases, but have you had some ups and downs elsewhere which may be reflecting on your feeling towards mylot as well ? It happens sometimes. With me when I had joined mylot last year, I had a bad personal phase and it made me loose interest in everything, including mylot and other sites that I was writing on. But I sat down and seriously thought about it and realised that I was actually becoming a lot more unhappy by simply brooding over things and not interacting and doing some other activity....Hope you get over the feeling and come and be active here and enjoy mylotting

Well, I have been through that feeling too. Its only my few weeks here and it seems I have lost things to discuss or reply to posts. It shows in my earnings, a descending amount every time I visit my earning links. Up until, I got my first task approved...now I am good as new and have been writing more post now. It will just pass, just have a break. Before you know it, you will be back posting more discussions or answering more than ever before.

Newbies always feel that way after the first few months. When I was a newbie, I felt that way all the time. Usually after a few days rest, my energy and enthusiasm for the site was renewed.

I know what you mean by there being lots of repeats in the discussions. I am sorry to hear that you are losing interest in mylot. I find that if I take a break for awhile and come back later, that there are new discussions to post to. I have been doing searches lately, as the discussions have been very repetitive, and by searching I find something new to post about. It seems like the money ones are always being discussed in here, like that is the only thing that matters. I do agree though that we are all here for the same thing, but it isn't the only reason to be in here. I just enjoy being here, having fun, and helping others, and of course getting paid for them is a bonus for sure. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Hey, no one's forcing you to come here! If you need to take a break then take it. One day youll find yourself remembering why you loved my lot so much, and the cool thing is, all you have to do is log back on!
