I know I do! I have pets that are very in tune with me and my spirit. I have multiple Sclerosis and my dog Pocket Knows when I am feeling bad and does everything e can think of to make me feel better.
I have read many books on this subject and I think they do have a spirit and that God honors that spirit. What do you think????This is a new kitten my husband rescued last night in a busy highway look in those eyes...?

I think it's cute that your new kitten is named Highway. We have a cat that lives in our workplace and his name is Roundabout, because that is where he was found. ^_^
Anyway, I don't really use the term "soul." I think soul, when used towards humans, defines their level of morality, such as "You have no soul!" and, "What a kind soul you are."
Is this behavior displayed in animals? I believe so. I believe that it is just stronger in humans because we have a more complicated thought process, and not every action we display is geared towards surviving. You don't see this as much in the wild because most other animals tend to be around some sort of threat. For instance, a lot of animals will eat the young of other animals if left unattended, even animals of the same species. Most humans will defend and try to assist a child if s/he is alone.
Animals tend to show this level of morality within their own groups and families, when humans tend to and are more capable of getting along with a wider range of others.

Yes, I believe that animals have souls. When I was little, family life was sometimes very difficult, but I always felt a special connection to animals. It was like they understood my pain even when the adults around me did not, even when I wasn't comfortable talking about it. I didn't even have to say anything. They just knew.
Now, as an adult, we always joke that our cat is my pregnancy test. All three times, she knew I was pregnant even before I took a test!! LOL!

I actually do believe that pets especially cats and dogs do have souls. They know how to make us feel better when we are sick or when we are feeling down. When I had my puppy, he would always comfort me when I was sick and would lay down right next to the bed and during the mornings when I would eat breakfast he would lay under my feet. Dogs and cats are very intelligent and they have a spiritual bond with their owners that are beyond amazing and they sense all of our emotions and can even understand from our tone of voice even if it's direct or indirect. On a side note that is a really pretty kitten very glad that your husband was able to rescue him/her.
