What would you do if your child signed your name?

When I was 10 my parents let me stay home from school one day. For some reason, they did not send a note with me the next day. I decided to write one for myself. I could not write well, so I printed the note and printed my mom's name as "Mrs..." The teacher called my mom and dad then they all told me about forgery and how I would go to jail if I did it again since it was illegal! It scared me half to death!
I did not do it again for a long time.. then it occured to me that my mom and I have the same first and last names, only our middle names differ. I began signing my first and last name to all notes needed by the school. I figured if they thought it was signed by my mom that was their problem!
did you ever sign your parent's name on something? What would you do if your child signed your name on something?

All through out high school I use to sign my mom's name. Never for anything bad for the most part I would tell her if I did something bad. Like if I skipped a class and needed a note I would tell her I wrote a note and signed her name. My mom was cool about it. I think forgery though is the when the other person isn't aware of it because my mom could of easily said she signed it and they wouldn't know I really did.

I never told my mom when I wrote her name! It would have been forgery I think.. because she would never tell me to sign her name for her. lol! I figured I was signing my name and it was up to the teachers to figure out it wasn't my mom since our names were basically the same!

I use to sign my mothers name all the time. I am very good at it! She knew that I was doing it for the most part....for like school papers that just needed signing Or for field trips. But nothing bad. I was a good student that was never in trouble, so it was ok when I did it. The teachers never knew it was me either. Pheww...

The teachers never knew it was me signing her name either.. but I wrote all kinds of notes for when I skpped class and all. Usally, when I needed a permission slip I took it to he to sign... don't know why!

I use to sign my moms name to everything at school from the time I was in the fourth grade. My teachers never knew the papers weren't signed by my mom. I could sign her name perfectly. Of course my mom didn't mind because I never abused the situation.
My middle child has signed my name a few times for papers at school. Each time the teacher has failed to notice but I have caught him. Each time I make him admit to the teacher what he has done and she has removed computer time.

That's interesting... How is what your son did different than what you did with your mom's signature? Is it just that he got caught? Maybe I don't understand something... why did you punish him for the very thing you escaped from when you were a kid?
