the bible - a gift from god and is inspired of god. the bible itself answers: men spoke from god as they were borne along by "holy spirit" to illustrate: a business- man might have a secretary write a letter. that letter contains the businessman's thoughts and instructions. hence, it is really his letter , not the secretary's. in a similar way, the bible contains god's message, not that of the men who wrote it down. thus the entire bible truthfully is the word of god.

Ok..here goes..lol...as far as I can comprehend...the bible was written by men that God sent visions to or wrote stories about things that happened. Thus we have the misunderstandings of time and interpretation. It is hard to understand sometimes because it is things seen through another's eyes. It is the word of God but through his chosen he thought would represent him best. I think there are things that are confusing here and there but we have to remember the main purposes of stories told to get the answer we need. We have to look past things left out and things added in. EX.. Adam and Eve were the first..eve sinned..two sons Cain and Able.. Cain killed Able and was banished and found a city where he married his first wife. city..ok...where did the city come from? We have to assume there were others not written about somwhere along the line. What time? how much? We can't say. The piont was Cain sinned and was banished. It's not to say that the bible is not God's word. It's like anything else. It has been tarnished by human imperfection,,which we have been promised.

How do we know that the Bible is inspired by a god? The only evidence we have is that the bible tells us so. If a salesman asks you; "Would I lie to you?", do you believe him? Your secretary analogy does not really work. A secretary is not inspired, they take dictation. There is a tradition in the Islamic faith that the Qua'an was dictated by god to Muhammad. But this is not a feature in the Christian faith. If we use the four cantonal Gospels of the New Testament as an example, we have four different books written by four different writers. They were not written as a history or a biography. Instead use the story of Jesus, to present the writer's point of view. If you want to stretch your imagination. You can say that these were inspired by the life of Jesus life, but they are not an accurate recording of his life. They reflect the message that the person who wrote them was trying to convey. The Bible was written by people, each one who had his own agenda and his own reason for writing. The person who wants to live his life as a Christian, has to understand what the Bible is all about. The true Christian views the Bible as a point of departure, not as the final destination. The Bible should be viewed as a source of inspiration, not as a book that was inspired by God. The person that believes that the Bible is a blueprint in which every word is true is not a true Christian, they are a dangerous fanatic.

I certainly agree with that... Bible is written God's words.
