Here's an interesting theory of Time Management that dates back to ancient Greece.
We must spend one quarter of our day doing each of these tasks. The tasks help us relief us from the monotony and sluggishness when the other tasks start to tire us.
Earth tasks
This is the basis on which everything else works. Earth is the connection between us and our needs and necessities. They include basic tasks like eating, sleeping, doing a routine job.
Fire tasks
The element of fire represents a spark within us. Fire tasks include dynamic productive quality that each of us is bestowed with. It includes the inherent creative talent we allows us in developing new ideas, taking risks, working on that extra edge on innovation and whetting our creativity.
Air tasks
The element of air symbolizes our inclination and ability to think and ponder. This is essentially a non-doing activity. Air tasks include pure thinking activity like planning analyzing, creative thinking when we are still in a relaxing mode.
Water tasks
We can achieve nothing without others and we can achieve nothing because of others. So this water task is the balancing activity. It symbolizes striking the right chord with our colleagues, family and friends. This helps is doing all other tasks effortlessly.
Can you relate to this?

This sounds interesting and many thanks for brigning the theory of Time Management to our knowledge. I find that we keep doing basis tasks like eating, sleeping and executing routine job very regularly. In so far as executing Fire tasks are concerned, I find that we being not the Scientists or Research Scholars do not innovate new things. We (which include I) enjoy doing Air tasks like planning, analying a situation and ponder. I also take the help of others e.g. my better half for executive certain tasks, which I find I cannot do myself.

Fire task is not about being a scientist! You can be creative in your own way.

You must be knowing your strengths and your positive points and also the things you love doing. If you have short memory or too modest to admit, let me tell you. Work on your writing skill - you are great in it. Polish your photography skill, grab a camera and get going! And I know you love doing it as well. So, that's the creative thing I was talking about.
BTW, does that make you a scientist??!!

UNIVERSAL ALIGNMENT
Harmony of spirit in creation.

Harmony is the key to happy living. So, have you been able to strike the right balance as you did in the instance of CBs?

(Seriously) I think you are much better off than many of us. You have found your mission and is almost there with the vision to make it happen. Keep going and good luck.

I think i can relate to it quite well Mimpi and thanks for putting it across so well.
Yes, not only are the Earth tasks reduced even the Fire Tasks seem to go in an out of balance and that would b because of the ove indulgence in the Air tasks. Not necessarily creative all the time but over thinking as i would call it.
As a result the balance seems to get lost. The earth tasks are the first to get affected i.e the routine eating sleeping habits. This is turn affects the Fire tasks and the water tasks as well. Then it's a recognition and a struggle to maintain the achieve and maintain the balance again.

Air asks are good and helps in doing all other tasks. Most of us seem to do the Air task in excess though. But I do not think you do less of Fire tasks. I think you are doing great with it. Infact, you need to work a little bit on Water tasks, that's it!

I am not! The strange thing is that I lag in Water task to a great extent. Other I can manage but I fail miserably in Water tasks! My mom keeps telling me about it (without being aware of Greek Methodology! ) but I still need to work hard on it!

I cant really relate to this categorization coz in our daily life, we all have a fixed routine to follow, so according to this, I hardly have any time for my fire and air tasks. Even then, going by this , I think most of the time I am into the earth and water category.

I feel, earth tasks tend to drain us out and we must make sure to squeeze out me-time, which could be FIRE and AIR tasks for many. Water task is very important. You are doing it all right you said. I need to do more of it, I guess.
The Greek Methodology could be more theoretical but the essence of it couldn't be denied and the more we strike the right balance the more happy we get.
Thanks.

Gosh you are trying to make me think, lol!
I try for balance in my life, I keep home, think about writing stories, sometimes actually find time to get them on paper to do drawing and gardening which I love and I generally feel happy and contented even more when anyone notices my calm and quiet little world, or says m garden.,stories or pictures are good/pretty. Does that count?

It does rainbow! I think you are doing quite fine with the balancing act and that from the day I know you. The creativity in you has the outlet in all those beautiful things you keep doing. Folklore, angels, fairies, fairy tales..were never so meaningful until I went through your creative world. Obviously the Fire task has to be preceded by Air tasks and the fact that we have to do Earth tasks no matter what prove that your are in perfect chord.
Great going!

I can relate and it is a very creative way of describing the balance of life. Unfortunately I spend almost half the day on earth tasks, one quarter accomplishing fire tasks, and the other quarter on water and very little on air tasks! I wish I could cut down the time I spend on earth tasks around the house! (LOL) Although I need to sit, ponder or do nothing for longer I am thankful that a good part of my day can be spent on my fire tasks which I think are the ones that make my spirit sing!

Fire task is great. But I have found Earth tasks tend to drain me out and I am left with little of Fire tasks. This leaves me an incomplete feeling at the end of the day. I a also bad with Water tasks which my mom is good at. I am working on it though.
