Death penalty- Are you for or against it?

In New Hampshire a man is sentenced the death penalty by lethal injection for purposely shooting and killing a police officer. All the jurors agreed that he shot the police officer just so he would not get caught for the crimes he had recently committed. This is the first time in 49 years that the death penalty has been sentenced in N.H. Many people believe in the death penalty and stating that this is the only way to keep crime in some kind of order.Then there are many who think it is a cruel and an excessive way of punishment. I feel that if you strait out kill some one like this, then yes, you deserve the death penalty. If it were self defense or accidental death, then no it would not be issued.

I am neutral. Like what you said, it is depend on the situation on the crime scene. If he was purposely to kill, there is no pardon. If he was self- defense or unintentional, then, the condition should be put into consideration.

well i am nether in favour nor against it..actually what matter the most is motive..if you are killing someone for no mistake then you deserve the same..but the fact is that in case of realization about crime...the criminal has a chance to turned into good and who knows he would become one of the great inspiration for other people..as in our country it is famous that a robber become one of greatest saint in history after he got realization that what he was doing ... i strongly believe that we have no right to kill people..specially if its case of self defense or accident....

I dont know it depends but I think they should just rot in prision for the rest of there life because if you ask me its just taking the easy way out and pretty much doing them a favor to kill them. Thats why im aganst it and think that they should just let them rot in prision for the rest of there life.
