I am using desktop computer and some days i used laptop which belongs to my friend and i feel its easy to use type and to do anything on a laptop. But for a desktop we have take hand to type and lift that and again to use the mouse and many more things we have to move if we are using desktop. So what is your opinion in Laptop and Desktop?

Ya, actually desktop and laptop have their own advantages and disadvantages. It's hard for us to say which one is the best to use because it is actually depends on which one is best suits you or your usage. Laptop has the convenience to use because it is small enough and so it's easily portable, we can bring it to anywhere we want and use it to do our work with ease. However, laptop has tis limitations such as in the processing performance and other capability features. Besides, it's acutally more vulnerable, and also the servicing or spare parts are more expensive compared to desktop hardwares. Desktop cannot be moved around and so it's portability is more restricted. However, it's indeed having better performance compared to certain laptops, and we can upgrade its hardware or add in PCI to improve its performance. Besides, desktops are easier to maintained and serviced.
Anyway, these are my opinions on desktops and laptops. The most important thign is that we enjoy the technology, and ease our work.

I find both are a much the same now with the more sophisticated laptops. One good thing about them is they can go anywhere whereas the desktop can only be in one place. And when you move them you have to take them a piece at a time and then assemble it all over again so I much prefer the laptop for convieniance.

I am more comfortable using a desktop. It is fine to use laptop if it has a mouse connected to it. I use laptop to watch movies and play games, but I prefer desktop to work. In my office all the managers have laptop and others are usign desktop.
I would prefer to use a laptop, if I am a manager because they have a lot to think and plan (I mean intellectual work) rather than typing.

I had a desktop for a long time, but for the last 3 years or so, exclusivesly I've used a laptop. It does all the same things that my desktop did, but now I'm mobile, both in and out of the house. I like being able to use it on the couch, or bedroom or office. It just gives so much more freedom.

yes of course it does dear. But if we keep laptop on our body and does any work i think we cannot right because it gets heated soon and we haven't use that more than i think an hour on our legs or lap somewhere. But if we used to use laptop we cannot use desktop as its somewhat harder than laptop....keep smiling and happy mylotting dude....

For me, it must be the laptop. I have never used desktop since I brought laptop about one year ago. It is so convenience for me to use laptop because of easy to remove. I carry my laptop from dorm to lab everyday, just for the need of working. All the information I have is recorded on my hard disk. So, I love laptop.

Good dear and please be careful about that because if you keep it on your lap more time the battery's heat may pass into your body and it may effects you and its recommend to keep it on any table while working on it and i hope you are doing the same dear. Thanks for sharing...happy mylotting and have a nice day dear...:-)

I think both have their faults as well as advantages. A desktop is easier for me to use. I love using the full size keyboard on it. Laptops can be hard to type on, even with my slim fingers. But a laptop is portable and can be taken with us, if needed. So, I guess it really depends on what you're most comfortable with. Because not everyone is going to agree with one or the other.

Yes dear and i know how laptop will get treat compared to desktop. We have to really take care of that as it is costly and also delicate compared to desktop and we can play with desktop like anything but on laptop we cannot and we have to take precautionary steps even for that right! but laptop is fine when we go out.happy mylotting and happy day ahead dear.

I really like using my desktop because I could sit on a comfortable chair typing and I could download files that are big enough so that it can store on my computer. Recently, I've downgraded my version to XP and everything is loading faster which adds one more positive aspect to my desktop. I have all my documents files there so it's better for me. But then on the other hand, a laptop is convienent because you can take it any place you want and you can go online and view things. I think that is the only thing I like about the laptop. From my point of view, I prefer the desktop.

6 years ago when i can pay for my first computer i chose desktop immediately, 2years ago i bought my first notebook for the reason of portability. So i think when we want to buy a computer we should weigh of the need we really have. For example, we can show ourselves some needs and order them than we can decide which one is we need most.

hmmm yes dear and i thing is that we can buy desktop compared to laptop if we need to work at home only right! And if we do travelling everytime then laptop is mandatory dear.Keep smiling and i agree with your comment dear...

both has its pros and cons. It also depends on what you use it for and for how long. If you are working on computer for hours then desktop is better. If you work for short time or in intervals or at different locations laptop is better. I play games on my computer and for long hours some time so I prefer desktop.

Hey Sweetychandu, well as for me I have both and I usally tend to use my desktop more but that's only because my laptop is sooo slow.. but if it were my choice deffinatly the laptop. It's easier I can sit in my bed and do my work etc,, the only thing I wouldn't do from my laptop is print. I only print with my desktop.
@sweetychandu7 (1120)

oh! printing is the only problem in your laptop i think you can do that and why don't you consultant your customer service for laptop and know what are the setting s you have to made for getting the printing enabling.i think try in Control Panel and there i guess you can see "Printers and Otherhardware" and why don't you try it once in your laptop dear.Let me know...

So you found a laptop more practical than a desktop, don't you? Well, it depends on us, actually. If we travel a lot, laptop is the solution but if we don't travel a lot, I myself prefer a desktop because I think a desktop is much faster and more comfortable. Yes a laptop can come handy sometimes but I also think that it is more fragile than a desktop. Once again, it all depends on us. There is no need to compare both of them because both of them have their advantages and disadvantages. Do you agree?

I got my laptop a few weeks ago and it is a great pleasure. As I am typing here I am sitting at the dialysis centre recieving treatment. The treatment is four hours, three time a week. My laptop gives me the opportunity to stay in touch even when not at home.
There is not much i can do while on treatment. Reading a book makes me fall asleep, I can't walk around because i am chairbound, but with the laptop, I can travel the world while strapped to a chair.
I prefer LAPTOP

As the first user mentioned, it really depends on the user type, and i should add that it also matters what you want to do with your computer.
I have both laptop and desktop computers, but i must say that i use an additional mouse at the laptop as i don't really like the touch pad.
I also don't like that the laptop overheats which is an inconvenient for me.

hmmmm yes dear you are true touch pad is somewhat inconvenient and i know that and having mouse is cool and easy way right! My friend kept his laptop for about 2 weeks in my room and i used it and thing is that there is no mouse pin connection to it and see how i managed that.sometimes my finger starts paining and i stopped working on that and i start using my desktop dear...

I feel it all entirely depends on one's preference. Now I have a desktop at home.I used it for all my online and offline work.Recently I also bought a laptop. Now I find myself using my laptop the most.I mostly go online and that too for visiting tech blogs and sites and news sites and of course mylot!I also have study software installed on my laptop.Hence most of my computer time is on my laptop.I now rarely use the desktop. This inspite of the fact that I don't travel much and have to carry my laptop places.still I find myself increasingly using it for most of the work. The only disadvantage is that now I have to use my fingers on my laptop as I have not yet attached a mouse!!!But yes I have taken a liking to my laptop. My desktop has a bigger monitor though and that is a great advantage whenever I feel like watching some movie on it.But then my Television has a much bigger screen and I can watch movies on it!!!

Hello SweetyChandu,I prefer laptop over desktop since I had to do lot of travel due to my work and with laptop I can carry it anywhere along it with me and access internet usage. It is light weight and not bulky.I don't need to attach cables or wires, other than my 9 cell battery.Whereas with desktop,I cannot carry it around with me whenever I need computer to use.Desktop is good for home use. Moreover, it is individual's choice and needs. You can either choose laptop or desktop according to your need and the mode of use.Happy posting!

I have both a desktop computer and a laptop computer and both serve their purpose for separate tasks. I use my desktop computer when I need to be on the computer for a handful of hours and need to do multiple things such as social networking, chatting, being on mylot and also listening to music. I use my laptop when I am laying in bed and just going on social networking sites and just chatting and only use it for no more than 2 hours. Something that does not require a whole lot of processing power would be great for a laptop computer and more resource heavy tasks would be for the desktop.
