Television commercials are so loud.

Why is it that I have to keep turning the volume up just to hear a television show or a documentary and then all of a sudden my ears bleed as someone markets their product at me with obliterating volume. This is just plain evil in my opinion. Doesn't it make sense to try to make everything a general volume range. I know it's subversive marketing techniques that cause the spike in volume but it's just rude. what ever happened to televisions with "smart sound" shouldn't it be the standard by now. Heck I've got a 50 dollar guitar compressor that limits my volume range for recording. Maybe I'll rewire that into my t.v. lol. Maybe I'll just stop being marketed to and throw away my t.v. Is anyone else super annoyed by this marketing behavior?

Oh so that happens to you too! I did not know that this was a specific marketing strategy, I alwasy thought there was something wrong with the broadcast in my area...so this is actually a global phenomena?! And what's more irritating is that I have to have this stupid remote always at hand to keep on switching between high and low volume...the sudden blast does certianly hurt my ears.
