Your view that teacher is more important is true. But we find that being a teacher is not such a great deal in the current trend in society. Teachers who truly want their students to do well are rare. Many take it mainly as a job and gets stuck to it. One should never take teaching as a profession if one cannot give full input towards it. A teacher is called a social engineer, because he/she has the power to change the way in which the society thinks and works. All the great personalities(philosophers) were teachers. Now what will happen if there are no teachers? Without teachers (some one to chanalize the coming generations)they won't know what is right and wrong, the difference between good and bad will not be distinguished by the new generations. And it will take them the time taken by our mankind to reaching this level of understanding. It is the experience that leads one forward.A teacher has experience in the sense he/she has studied about how to teach, but a child without having taught have to personally have all the experience to learn without the help of a teacher. It will be a waste of time and energy and a stagnation of thoughts and degradation of society that will evolve from lack of teachers. It doesn't matter whether the child is going to the society early or late ,but how the child is entering it.He/she should enter the society having the capacity to distinguish between the things that are good and bad.Proper education is a must for humans (that's why it was evolved in the society).
