A Walk to Remember vs. Twilight

I'm not being biased or anything, but I want to know what you think of "A Walk to Remember" as opposed to "Twilight." The latter has been like a fad--teens gush over Robert Pattinson and Kirsten Stewart's team-up. The series of novels upon which the movie and upcoming ones are based have become best-sellers. Movie-goers can't wait for "New Moon" to come out in theaters. I haven't read the books, but I've seen the movie (Twilight). And I think that it's a bit too overrated. Again, I'm not against the fans of Edward and Bella. It's just that i think that in the romantic perspective of the story, "A Walk to Remember" portrays more effectively how love works. Personally, I believe that love changes things...ultimately for the better. Both movies have shown that love does do that, but in "Twilight" I can say that it's not for the better. I'm not a believer of vampires or any of the sort, so I don't approve of the fact that Bella actually wanted to become a vampire just so she could be with Edward. On the other hand, Landon began to realize that there is more to his life and gained a better perspective of it when she met Jamie. And he wanted to sort things out with himself so he could be worthy of the love Jamie was ready to give. He respected her deeply and wanted the best for her. Maybe Edward also wanted the Best for Bella, but their story is just too worldly for my liking. I sincerely apologize if any of you feel offended in any way. But I gave Twilight a fair chance. I hope none of you will take this personally.
