Do you miss days on your past sometimes?

I recall when I was young. I would play always having fun!
With the neighbours next to me and we would play games until the setting sun.
Trying to be the best among the others in a game called "the hawk snatched the chicken", I though it made great sense! It doesn't matter who is the best now.
So, um, I miss my home town. I miss my old friends, I miss the days on my past.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mistery, today is a gift, that's why it is called the present! However, missing something doesn't mean that I don't like things now! We all have a moment of missing! It doesn't matter that we keep some good memories, does it?
Do you miss something?

May I compliment you on your insight, which is unusual in one so young in years.
Since I grew up in the country, I don't have a hometown to miss. Sometimes, I miss farm life. Then I remember the hard work for little or no monetary reimbursement and the isolation, and my wistful feeling quickly vanishes.

I used to think American farmers were very very comfortable! So, you are tired too, huh? :D
Well, I appreciate your compliment as a great honour!
Best regards!

What I missed in my past were in my grade school days. We have this bahay kubo (nipa hut) inside the school ground, we also have a lagoon and there stood in the middle the bahay kubo. When we go to school early, because afternoon school starts at 1pm, we were already there at 11pm, on the sige of the bahay kubo, watching fish on the lagoon. We exchanged story of ghost there, and sometimes when we feel cold breeze of air we were all hurried to our classroom shouting ghost and every student walking by noticed us and starts to run with us too. I remember those innocent times, when I had a crush inside the classroom and all of the girl classmates were with him and I was there on the back, making tantrums because I hasn't scored yet. LOL. Those were just simple memories but unforgettable.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mistery, today is a gift, that's why it is called the present!...I really like this saying, I have never come across this before!
Yes, I too miss some of my bygone days...specially my college days. Oh we had such fun, specially after the controlled discipline of school days, college was like heaven. No responsibility, no headache of earning, not much studies either and so many friends to hand out with. Parents a lot liberal than they were before and a whole world to explore. I specially remember when we used to bunk classes and go for movies and there was always this fear of somebody seeing us on the road instead of the classes!

I often bunk classes. The classes are either the ones I am good at or something I hate to pay attention to! haha

Hey hiddenwing! You are so wise! That is what I like about you!
And you are so right! We are always allowed to miss things
from the past! And even though we can't get it back we can
still enjoy things that are from the "now"! We can make new
memories! It is true that yesterday is history, and there is
always new things to do as long as we are healthy and alive!
I still enjoy having fun with my friends and doing silly things
sometimes! I can keep my memories, but enjoy making new ones!
And I hope that you will do the same!

Yes, I miss those good ol past times when life is happy and no worries. Those were the best times, playing on the beach and in the clear blue tropical water of my home island. How i miss those days and it seems like the memories comes back when i'm feeling stressed, etc. I guess its only natural for me to remember the good times to keep me from getting and depressed, because thats how i am as others perceive me. They say i'm always happy.....but they don't know that get feel down sometimes.

Yes my friend I certainly miss the time when I had my own flat when I was free to come and go as I pleased, being independent, and relying on no one but myself, no one to nag me no one to pester me and no one to get on my nerves. I used to go to work, I was working then come home and have the place to myself, I could eat when I wanted to and eat what I wanted to and relax and watch tv. I would go out with friends that I don't see any more and I would go out every Friday night and would get chatted up often, I would have fun and it was a life I loved, I know the year well too it was 1998 that is my best year of my life and sometimes I really really pine for what I had. I was even slimmer then too, I had everything I could possibly want, boy I really miss my past, but not all of my past was good I have to admit, you have to look forward not backward and hope for better times to come and hopefully I can have 1998 again, perhaps next year!

"Today is the day my life begins.
Today, i become a citizen of the world.
Today i become a grown-up.
Today i become accoutable to someone other than myself and my parents.
Accoutable for more than my grades.
Today i become accoutable to the world, to the future, to all the possibities that life has to offer.
Starting today...
My job is to show up, wide-eyed, and willing and ready.
For what? I don't know. For anything. For everything.
To take on life, to take on love, to take on the responsibility and possibility.
Today, my friends, our lives begin.
And I, for one, can't wait."
I just watched a drama, grey's anatomy! It was a graudated student's oath! That makes so much sense!
Today is the day your life become better!
Starting today...
You realized dream is to show up, wide-eyed, and willing and ready.
To take on life, to take on love, to take on the responsibility and possibility.
Today, my friends, your new lives begin.
I bless you don't have to wait.
Tomorrow, everything that you want will become true!

Heck yah [lol] just had to say that...there are so many things that we did as kids that I wouldn't think of letting my kids do when they were young. We lived in a high rise with an attached fire escape, at night those windows facing the fire escape were left open. During long hot summer days all the front doors on each floor was left open. We would hang out and play in the buildings courtyards and backyard. We had no worries, folks were always about keeping an eye on you. You knew and played with everyone in the neighborhood. And we played games, OMGosh you hardly see kids playing in the streets or the parks...for that matter...anymore.
Food tasted better and everything you needed for everyday living could be found right in the neighborhood, within walking distance of your home. We did take trips downtown sometimes, but it wasn't necessary.
And the holidays, oh they were simply the best...
Folks thought progress, technological advancements would make life better...but I actually think we've lost more than we've gained.

At some point, life is harder! There are more crimes than the past! A coin always has two sides! In the future, techiques will be more developed. I don't know what they will bring us!
Take care!

yeah! I miss a lot of video games during the early 90's era
like super mario and stuff. As a kid I always played Famicom game console and I never got tired of it. Somehow I think those old games from the 90's are somewhat special to me that I think these games are way better than today's games on PC, Playstation, Xbox and wii

I do sometimes think of those memorable pasts and I miss them. Going somewhere with my dad driving his old ford, I miss that days with my dad. I also miss that thing with my mom whom she would love to care me for the best. I miss my days with my uncle who gets into carpentry job always having to talk with him all the way.
During my High school has its best memory that I really miss. All my batchmates and the days of being so wacky and curious and so much fun to bully or somewhat so exploring what life would be.
College days came to be memorable when we have that field trip and got drunk every time we got back from the Hotel where we are staying for the rest of the field trip.
I missed my past jobs as they have the best experience I have learned from.
I miss the time spent together with my someone every time we go out of work. I miss her so much.
These are all that I miss.

Who doesn't? Remember when we were young and had better eye sight and loaded with energy. No artrithis. A more innocent memory, times when things were more stable and less stressful. A time when we haven't made life changing decisons yet. But I believe we could all relive those times in our minds, and you could still feel young today by doing just that. Imagination is a very powerful thing. Just like when we pick up on a scent that instantly draws us back to a past event. But have you ever considered that this time right now, when you get older, you would also be missing that very time right now?

When your worries increase, it means you grow up. When we were small kids, even some very boring things could make us happy!
