Medicine became business in my country. In early days..it was profession, doctors use to treat patient very carefully and prescribes the best medicines but now a days..its more a business rather then the profession. Everybody is earning money, no one bothers about the condition of the patient. One of my cousin is Medical Repersentative and he use to tell us that they give big gifts to doctors and ask them to prescribe their medicine only.... and not in only their company but every company involved in medicine business does this kind of practice...the bigger the gift the more the prescriptions....what is the condition of doctors in your country....

I have noticed lately they treat the symptoms and not try to find the cause. I went in because my arm was hurting very bad, right off the bat they prescribed muscle relaxers because they jumped to the conclusion it was pulled muscle or spasm. Even after explaining I didn't do anything to hurt my arm he insisted they were strained and pulled. I took the muscle relaxers and they did nothing but make me tired. I went back because I had taken all the prescribed medication and I told him it still hurt and now at times it was numb and tingling down the lower half of my arm and he said I needed more muscle relaxers and put me on a anti depressant and told me he guess I had fibromyalgia. I'm not arguing the fact about fibromyalgia because of the unrelated pains in joints and all over my body at different times, but my arm has been hurting still and getting worse for 5 months now. Just now they are going to xray and try to figure out what is going on in there. So our doctors are quick to prescribe medication rather than times before when they tried to figure out what was wrong with you then prescribe the proper medication for what was truly wrong with you.

I think I am from the same country in which you are living. I am from India. You are right, everything sells. Doctors aren't any exception. Even though I know some doctors who are devoted to their clients but again those are not alopathic doctors but Ayurvedic one only!

yes, we are from the same country...and about ayurvedic doctors they don't have much option in their madicines like allopathy doctors...you won't believe that doctors are getting free air tickets from medicine companies if they have to fly anywhere personal

Yeah it seems everyone is going for money alone. One day my mother went to a dentist for tooth ache and the doctor said her teeth would have to be removed. So she went to the hospital reception(that's were you go to get the cards for checkup and pays money in advance) and requested the staff to give her the card for teeth removal. She was surprised to see the rate as Rs.1000(Indian money). She did not get her tooth removed and came back and later went to a nearby clinic and had it removed for just Rs.35. The big hospital is a well known one but its not that good a one and employees under qualified doctors as well. But the poor people don't recognize it and falls prey to their pompous ways.To get qualified as a doctor also is quite easy here as you pay some money and presto you have your degree.Very convenient. But it is the common man who suffers. One goes to the doc for common flue and gets treated for cancer, huh?! As long as money drives the minds this trend will prevail.Lets hope for a change and the best.
