Do we own this planet?

If given a serious thought do we actually own this planet, or are we just having it as our ancestors gave it to us, Actually it belongs to the future generations and we only are care takers , shouldnt we leave the reserves for the future generations

Well, actually, none of us "own" the planet, as if you can own something that there are billions of people and even more animals living on. That's like trying to own the universe. No, we don't own it, we're squatters.
Humans have some sort of complex with thinking they're the greatest gift to Earth, but we're just another species of animal. :)

Well it is said that God created the earth and we are just here visiting. I mean we live here and then die. So no we don't own this planet however I do think that we owe it the future generations to keep it clean and take care of it. How else will the cycle continue if we destroy it.
