These days a lot of people record the events in their lives through blogs. It's like a diary that we used to keep before. In your case, have you ever written or kept a diary? For how long was it? What did you usually write in it? Did you share it with other people or kept it locked?

I used to have a diary, both online and off but I got rid of those. I just do like using a diary, I'd much rather just talk it out or type it out with friends, and family. Or just for myself. It's much more secretive and I feel it helps a lot better.

Communication is great, and it really opens up a world that you didn't even know of!

Hi diutay, yes I have kept a diary since I was young and they are all in a box in my attic, they hold all my deep feelings, when I was happy and sad, all the good things that have happened and the bad..to me keeping a diary is good therapy as well cos when you cannot tell anyone something on your mind you can write it down in your diary..and that is a good thing it is like letting a burden of off your chest...many a time I have felt it helpful. Plus it is also now and then nice to read them and see what was happening whatever year you wrote it...LoLo

Hi diutay,
I used to have a diary but ever since my brother got hold of it and that was when I was young, he laughed at what I have been writing and showed it all the family, so since then I have not kept one.

before i do that when i was kid. just for a short time too. when i was 20's i did that again. but this time it was more like a diary of prayers . i just list some important prayers. and if they were answered on other days, i will put it as answered prayers for that particular prayer. so i could see what prayers that have been answered already.

Hi there. I kept a diary beginning when I was in the third grade. I wanted to become a writer then and thought that keeping a diary would be some sort of writing exercise. And then, as I grew up, I came to depend on writing in my diary when it comes to getting things off my chest, especially ones too personal to discuss with family and/or friends. I kept a diary all throughout high school too, only stopping when I finally set up my blog when I was in college. My online journal is currently five years old and is going strong. I'm really surprised that I was able to maintain it for this long. I shredded all my previous diaries, though, for safety purposes, when we moved.

I've always kept a diary. Some of them I shared, but not a lot of them. Even now that I have multiple blogs, I still keep an actual diary. I like being able to do things the old school way, I guess. I'm also the type who brings a notebook everywhere and takes down things that suddenly occur to me or I want to take a note of. I also do virtual journaling, which is even better because you have actual things or pictures (taken or drawn) that will remind you better of a particular day. :)

yes i had a diary before, when i was younger. it was quite long, but i couldn't trust myself if i kept it at the right place, so i burnt it. there was too many secrets in my life that time, a secrets that i don't want any of my family to know it. i used to write my feelings, how was i reacts on some of my problems. it helps me mature myself, and help me to learn to be a wiser person if i read it again. makes me realize that i'm better now. i kept it locked or just burnt it down.
i'm a blogger too, but i'm not using my blog as a diary but more to share my point of views of something that is happen in this world or just around me. i use my blog so that my friends will be easier to access some of the informations i shared there, especially if they're lazy to search on the web lol..

I used to keep record of all the things I did when I was in school. But after that I went to college and almost forgot about it. Truely speaking after reading your discussion topic my diary came to mind. I know feel like I miss it very much. I stopped writing mainly becuase things were not going very well for me a so I didn't want to keep record of my bad moments.

Hi! Yes, I have two diaries- one is mini notebook and the other one is through the blogs. I usually write it when I am free and relax my mind. Most stories from the blog are in fictional stories which is like the short stories. As for my diary notebook, I don't care if anyone read it as I don't have secrets at all. hehe.. I usually write it all the lessons learned from my mistakes. This will remind myself that I should not commit the same mistake again. Thanks!

I used to keep a diary when I was a teenager but eventually stopped doing about three years ago when I moved to university. It is just not one of things that I find interesting anymore. I never shared it with anyone, it was always my secret book where I could just spill anything that was on my head. I read them sometimes and to be honest I find them quite funny and entertaining and most times I wonder "What was I thinking?". It is so great that we grow up and become more mature.

I had a diary when I was in high school, and it was all about boys!!, I often laugh at myself when I try to read them again, shuddering once in a while. I was so caught up with my love life! really really pathetic. anyway, I kept it to myself. and now it's just laying somewhere in our house. I don't really know what to do with it.

I had a diary when I was in college.I kept one when I was experiencing a lot of things.I wrote my thoughts on falling in love for the first time, thinking about shifting to another course, dealing with family issues, and hating someone intensely.my diary is actually a recycled notebook which I decorated with magazine covers.I plan not to share it with anyone, but my bf-then found out about it and insisted on reading it.I usually take it with me to school, and he keeps on sneaking it off from my bag.unfortunately,my mom found out about it also.so I decided,no more diaries for me.

I am 29 and I still keep a diary. I started when I was 12 years old. I forget about it from time to time, but I still write in them. (I am on my 4th one). I keep it to remind me, also when my kids get older, I know they will do the same stunts I did, so like I said remind me. As per reading them, my kids will read them when they get older. Just to let them know that I was a kid once too. I know that sounds really tacky, but its the way I feel about it.

I used to keep a sort of journal. It was kind of like a diary, I guess. I only wrote in it when major things in my life happened and I really needed to get thoughts out. But now I've got a fiance to rant and rave to and I'm closer with my family than I was before, so I've always got a free ear to listen and I've found that I really don't need to any more. It's kind of nice to be able to go back and read what I was thinking, but since I only wrote about important moments anyway I can remember them without needing to look back at it.
