A 7yo boy I babysit noticed a new blanket on my sofa. He asked if it was new and I said yes. Then he asked if someone gave it to me, again "yes". "Oh," he said, "I thought you had yarned it."
He has seen me knitting dozens of blankets. I just thought his phrasing was cute "yarned".

Too cute! Isn't fun what they call things when they don't know what they are.

This is cute. It's funny what little ones can deduce from things they see or think they hear. My 4 year old niece is notorious for this. She is always saying cute things taht I have to bite the inside of my jaw to keep from laughing at her, because it would break her heart.
I crochet. I've never learned to knit.

That is so cute! Yes, I yarn a little. I mostly crochet, but I have tried knitting. I think I'm better with crochet because I have to get my fingers working, and just using the knitting needles is difficult for me.

I learned to knit and crochet in my Textiles class in college. Did one project in each. It was over 20 years later that I decided I wanted to "yarn" so I retaught myself to knit. It was really a toss-up as to which one I would pick up, but knitting won out.
