Do you think bad things come in 3s? Or is this just an old wives tale. I hope they only come in 3s I don't want another one, 3 in one week is plenty. None of our situations is life threatening but they sure stirred up our lives. First the air conditioning didn't work, then a family friends' son threatened suicide and we had to call the police to check on him, that became more and more involved ending with him leaving town with his dogs and no money, now everyone is searching for him. Then the Llama stepped on a rusty nail so we are doctoring him. Now that is enough, I want some quite. Do you find your life goes like this?

hehe. you didn't change sides. You still agree bad things happen in multiples of nonsingular numbers(????) Yes, I do know bad things for one person are good for another. Than however doesn't change that they are bad for someone. That's the law o the world I'd say. One creatures sh*t is another creatures delicacy.

I think this is just the way of life and when we find it bad many times it's only our point of view. The air conditioner was bad for me but brought some money for the man who fixed it, the man who ran away may very well get some help where he is going, and the Llama brought to our attention a need to be more attentive to the care of the pasture. So this is really only my perception that made these things bad. Blessings Don't you just love people that change sides in the middle of a discussion?

No, they actually come in 385's, but ignorant superstitious people only have the attention span to notice the first three.

Hey Pat~ I have always heard that bad things do come in 3s and
I have always hope that if that is so that there would be an
end after that! So I do hope that this is the end to your
latest misfortunes. I hope that the man you are speaking about
will be alright. I also hpe that the Llama will be alright too!
As for the air conditioner, that can always be fixed or in
the worst case scenerio replaced. The other two situations are
alot more serious! I hope that the endings of both are going
to be alright. Please let me know. I am praying for this
man and for the sweet Llama!

I read your response and realized that the air conditioning system is the most important to me, I can't stand the heat and it is the only one I have control over. The Man will do what he is meant to do, the Llama will do the same, in both these cases we have done what we could and have no more control. Thank you for what you said.

Things like that, like "bad things happen in threes," had to have come from somewhere, right?
My mom works for Hospice and before that she worked in a nursing home for like 16 years and she says that she notices deaths tend to come in threes. The Hospice she works for has a combination of patients, some who are in the nursing homes or assisted living facilities and some (most) who are in their homes and my mom sees the ones in their homes. And it always seems like, even though her patients are only connected through her and the nurse and social worker she works with, when they lose one, they almost always lose two more within a week or ten days. It's not always that way but probably 7 out of 10 times.
I don't know if that makes you feel any better or not, it's just my experience with the question.

I'm sorry for your problems, Pat.This old wives tale works sometimes because we make it work. When something bad happens, we start thinking like"what a disaster","why did this happen to me",and we push that button and the program starts working.Especially, when people who are not positive about you, hear your bad news. They double this problem.Keep saying to yourself "we'll work everything out", "everybody faces some problems from time to time,I'm not the only one who has to deal with this",It's not a bad luck. It's just life.Blessings.

Hi savypat, I'm not sure if this is an old wives tale or not but I expect it is, even though I have seen it happen many many times.I have a feeling that we can attract good and bad things into our life by thinking about it, just as people usually react the way we expect them to. I don't believe things happen in fours , so you should be safe for awhile anyway. Blessings.

I don't think bad things necessarily come in threes, that may just be superstition but I do believe that one negative incident can attract another. I have often gone through periods when things will go wrong, my attitude will subconsciously become negative and more and more bad things will occur but perhaps it is just the Universe providing us with tests and lessons, who knows...

Yea I think bad things come in threes. First my car broke down, then my cell phone broke (thank god later after the car broke down), then my steam mop broke, (I love my steam mop. lol) It usually happens like that to me.
