Hello myLot,
I know quite a few people who do all the work on their own vehicles. I know some that do a few things and I know of others who do nothing, they hire someone. With this economy the way it is, I'm thinking about taking courses on car/pick-up truck maintenance just to save some money on costly maintenance.
Do you do your own work on your cars? Any suggestions on where I should begin? I appreciate all the help, thanks.

Sometimes the weather can be a real problem when you're trying to be economical. I just took my pick-up to MY friendly(costly) neighborhood mechanic for routine work. He's very trustworthy so I don't worry too much about things.

I do most of my own maintainance on my cars and bikes. The best way to learn is to just try it. I went to school to be a motorcycle technician and when I came out of school I didn't know enough to work really I had to do it in the shop and then I learned. Experiance is the way to go.

Thank you, svrider. Makes sense to me. Maybe I'll have a friend look over my shoulder to make sure I don't blow anything up. Yikes. Thanks for the advise. Hands on experience is the way I'll learn.
