I think my all time favorite has been Carrie Underwood. As for Jennifer Hudson considering that she didn't win she has an Oscar, Grammy and a voice that is unbelievable. She gives me chills when she sings.

Carrie Underwood is the most successful, no doubt. She was also my favorite until Adam Lambert came along. But I still love Carrie.
Also on my list are David Archuleta, Allison Iraheta, Kelly Clarkson, Carly Smithson, Fantasia and Chris Daughtry. :)

Based on surveys Chris Daughtry was the most popular and successful idol. He didn't even made it to the second place but I think he made better songs than other AIs. And I also do hope that Gokey will be one of them I really do hope he'll pursue singing because I know he's got a long way based on his looks and talent

Talking about sales, definitely it would be Carrie Underwood! And if you're going to ask Simon for sure he will also answer Carrie Underwood, not only because of the sales but also because he defended Underwood most of the time during Underwood's season. I think he really likes Underwood to win, and until now he always says that he made the right choice.
Happy MyLotting!

Statistics say that Carrie Underwood is the most successful when it comes to their incomes. But it can't be ignored that other Idol alums have taken the Broadway route and some of them became successful in the route they've chosen (e.g. Clay Aiken). Some of the Idols who ruled the charts are Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry.
My all-time favorite Idol is David Archuleta. He just captured my heart. :) When you watch him live, you will surely be mesmerized. No more awkward movements like he did with his "With You" performance on Idol. You will be simply amazed on how he has changed since he last stepped on American Idol as a contender. He can definitely turn a non-fan into an Archuholic.
But to be fair with others, I just watched American Idol during Season 7... So by default my all-time fave comes from Season 7 or 8. Haha!
After Archie, my next fave is Anoop Desai. His intelligence and smooth vocals caused me to go gaga over him. I'm looking forward to his career. I hope to hear him live too! Haha!

I think the most successful American Idol is Carrie Underwood. Just this year she won ACM Entertainer of the Year in addition to Female Vocalist of the Year. In a close second I would have to say is Kelly Clarkson. I'm sorry Adam Lambert is NOT the most talented to ever stand on the American Idol Stage. The most talented to ever sing on that stage is Carrie Underwood! In my opinion anyways. :-)

I actually saw something on TV about that the other day. In terms of earnings Carrie Underwood has made the most money because she has sold a lot of records, and she endorses a lot of products. She was followed by Jennifer Hudson, then Kelly Clarkson came in third. Ruben and Taylor Hicks have done the worst. As for my favorite I still like Kelly a lot. I also really liked Clay Aikin. I also loved David Cooke last year, but I have to say Adam Lambert is very impressive, and I like Kris as well. But I think that Adam will out sell him.

According to record sales statistics, Carrie is the most successful, then Kelly, then Clay Aiken and Chris Daughtry in fourth place.
On a personal level, Chris Daughtry was offered a chance to sing for the band Fuel because of his performance of their song Hemorrhage on the show. He turned them down (obviously) but then was asked by Jon Bon Jovi personally to open for his tour last summer. Not by Bon Jovi's agent or tour manager but Jon himself. Talk about an honor. Even if you're not a fan, you can appreciate the gesture.
Considering the winners only, my favorite was David Cook, Kelly Clarkson before him but now I have to say Kris Allen. In recent weeks I have found myself completely enamored by him. I have never, in 7 previous seasons, changed my favorite while my original favorite was still in the competition but Kris stole my heart in the Movie songs week and has been wowing me since then and I shifted my focus from Danny to Kris.
