They always give Filipino a bad name, comments, statement.

i hear and saw it again, hollywood said something again us, against filipino woman. It was done in the past, so many times. Im not angry or i take it against them but i was just curious why do they always think bad us filipino. this are the list that i remember words againts filipino. 1. they said bad words agains filipino doctors, you can see this in desperate housewives, but think about it doctors and nurses from philippines are what they looking for. you can see lots of them in their hospital and care giver homes. 2. they said were born to be maids, we are the most loving, caring and clean maids they can ever have. 3. we are looking for americans or guys from other country to used so we can leave our country, maybe for some its true, but for most of this cases, its not. We are lovable so we cannot help it if those guys will fall in love with us.

Filipinos are not the only people to get a bad reputation. Indonesians too. In the movies I always hear people making comments about Indonesians. I am not Indonesian but I live here and it makes me mad but I know it's true for some Indonesians some of them are very dishonest.

honestly i havent heard anyone saying bad about indonesia. But maybe im focusing in what they said about filipino. yes it sad when you hear people giving derogatory remark about other people. let take it aside, i really want to go to indonesia. my friends said how nice it is to travel to indonesia. i just hope next year i can visit your country.

Hmm, I guess these are stereotypes about Filipinos abroad and I guess stereotypes have their basis. Why would foreign people call us Filipinos that if it weren't true. Come to think of it, they wouldn't be calling us that if there weren't any basis. Why do they call us 'born to be maids' because most of the Filipinos out there in abroad are maids. C'mon let's face it, even though we are the most hospitable, caring and loving people in the world, their jobs are still maids and nothing would change that. We Filipinos are just good defending ourselves to their humiliating comments, but sometimes, we defend ourselves so much that we are masking the truth that some Filipinos out there are like that.
However, it's not right for them to generalize us. Not all of us are like that. The bad thing is that they are generalizing and they think that all of us are like that. We know that some Filipinos are successful in their fields outside the country. So, they shouldn't generalize, but I think the power of stereotypes are more powerful than the successful Filipinos out there.
