Would you ever go on a reality show?

I'm a complete reality junkie so therefore I'm always asking myself how come all of these people are going on these TV shows and basically making a fool out of themselves. Of course I can see game shows etc. because there can be a whole lot of money involved but I have never understood all of the dating shows that are constantly popping up and how people can think that they can find someone they love when they are placed together in order to start drama and get audience. Also it blows my mind that people believe they can find love in a few weeks. I don't know - I don't think I could ever place myself on a love reality show or a show that you are just living in a house with people because I wouldn't want to broadcast the entire me to the rest of the world. A game show I could probably do - but it would have to be something I knew I was cut out for - something I had a real chance in winning. How about you guys?

I really wonder what drives some people to shows like Americas Got Talent. I think I can not face the public like that. I would probably be too nervous. But may be it is the fame or the money that drives them. Well whatever it is, I do not think I will ever be on those shows.

Yes that is true. I really feel sorry for some of them especially the children. The judges can be really mean and I usually feel that will totally hurt the kids and it may destroy their confidence. Somebody commented once that some of these parents take their children to those shows because they can not tell them themselves that they are rubbish at singing or whatever talent they think they have. So they expect the judges to tell the kids. That is mean too.

And it is shows like those that people think they'll become completely famous off of and therefore will sell a lot of albums and what not, but I've noticed if you don't get noticed without going on a TV show you aren't going to do as well. Of course there are exceptions like Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson, but look at all the idols that are making basically nothing and nobody ever talks about them anymore. Millions of people may vote for you - but those millions of votes won't necessarily feel you're worth paying $10 to get your CD.

I would love to go on a show such as Big Brother, purely because I love to meet new people and work together as a team. That show would allow for both. Plus, even if you were voted last, you would still make a fair amount of money from the show, as there are a lot of magazine deals available for everyone who gets voted out. Plus, for the time you're in the house, it's like free accommodation! No bills to pay, you don't have to pay for food or water, and you don't have to pay the mortgage, it's absolutely perfect!

Yes you aren't paying bills there but you still have to pay the bills you are accumlating at home. I never thought about it before - until you bought something up about bills - but how are you going to pay bills if you aren't working? Especially if you don't end up winning the money and you go home with nothing? Not all people on the Big Brother house get a ton of magazine deals and what not - I know I use to watch the show all the time and I've heard nothing about the people that were just on there. I think people that are on Survivor etc. have gotten a lot more publicity than other shows.

I would not go on a dating show but would other types so long as there was a monetary profit in it for me. I am sorry to say the money talks. Game shows I would do also but would also consider other reality shows as long as there was some form or money to be gained.

Well i think the only reality show i would join would be The Amazing Race. I think it's the best reality show wherein you won't become the subject of embarrassment. It's pretty cool to be moving around unfamiliar places then doing some dares. If it's scripted, then i guess it's something i don't mind acting because the main focus is to be able to reach the destination ahead of the others.

That would be a really cool show to join because they literally do travel all across the world and I'm pretty sure its all expense free - I'm not sure if you're in charge of all the passports/medical stuff beforehand like shots etc. And also with that show you don't ever really feel like a loser when you get kicked off - it wasn't like you couldn't do something it was just you didn't do it quick enough. Nobody can tell you you're a loser when its stuff like figuring out another language, a different city, etc.

I tried out for survivor once. They seemed to like me but I never made it past the second interview. I'm kinda glad. I use to live outside, for several years. I just felt like I could stomp that show. I've got a unique personality and heck maybe I could have gotten famous. Now I am glad though that I didn't get on the show. I feel like I want to succeed because of my personal talents and accomplishments, not good marketing and a huge production budget. I really just don't approve of reality television these days. I suppose if I knew I'd get rich, I mean really knew, I would do something like fear factor. I swear I can stomach anything, and I've come close.

With Survivor I feel like its not just about being able to make it in the outdoors but also its a huge popularity contest and having to change yourself to be what other people want you to be and then a lot of times the best people are the ones getting voted off. Something like Fear Factor would be better since its not about popularity its about actually being able to complete a task.

Personally I don't want to join reality shows because I'm a type who walks away from the limelight but if there's a really great need of it, well maybe yes..

It would really depend on the type of show it was. If it was a type of show where you compete to win some sort of big prize, then I might. Depending on what the prize was and exactly what I had to do to get the prize! I would never be on a reality show just to be on tv though. But if there was something to win, then I might consider it!

I'm a reality show junkie too. No, I would never actually go on the show myself, not in a million years, but my daughter would like to and I could see her doing a good job of it. She has that type of personality. Anyways, it gives us something to watch.

Reality shows somehow do entertain viewers. Personally, I also don't like to join this kind of contest but I do admire people who join it. If weren't for their guts viewers will not be enjoying the show.

well, as long as reality shows go, I would join all of them, even something as difficult as "Survivor" and "The Amazing Race", or even "The Biggest Loser" (if I were cut out for it), but never, and I mean NEVER, dating shows. I believe that people joining those shows, are either just trying to meet new people, or desperate.

I can't see myself on a reality show, it's to much drama. I also wonder about the long term affects it could have on one's future. Just imagine if you were on let's say Trump's show you just showed your work ethic or lack of to the world . Not to mention a lot of hiring firms. I don't believe that old tapes can't be dredged up and come back to haunt a person. If you go on a dating show then a few years later find the person of your dreams then right as your poping the question a rerun of your worst moment comes on for you can even explain. oh well.
