My mom says you should carry some food when you are traveling. I do not like this as it increases the load and why should we if can get food any where and we also try different local dish. DO you carry food while traveling.

I also like to carry some snacks while travelling .It is true that it adds to your weight of luggage and moreover food is available everywhere .But certain homemade things will not harm our appetite .Eating wholetime out may cause stomach upset and so on.So I prefer to carry some homemade food stuffs .

Sometimes I carry some cookies and some candy so that I have something to eat on the bus or on the plane, but I don't carry other kinds of food. Sometimes I give away candy from my country if I make friends with people from other countries and they usually find it interesting to eat something different. I don't want to carry a lot of food though and I always travel light. I love to eat the local food and the local snacks when I visit a new place and sometimes I fill my suitcase with my favourite food from the place and bring it back to my own country

I like to carry some food before on each trip that I go on. That is because I have a vegan diet and sometimes it is hard to find the food that is suitable for me. I buy fruit and vegetables but take light weight things like rice cakes, small pots of jam, cereal and fruit bars. I make sure any food that I carry with me is an easy weight to manage.Whilst I am keen on finding out about the local culture self catering is the best thing for me. I wouldn't want to offend the local people by not eating their food.

Just like my mum. Even when we are on a tour, she will pack food like biscuits, packaged drinks, even instant mee. Her luggage is always heavy. She told me that if the local food doesn't suit her, at least she has something to eat!

I travel anywhere with food so that whenever you are , it is ready to eat and you are safe from the food you prepare itself than to buy anywhere that you dont know how they repare it or sometimes youe stomach will get a new of that kind of dish. Sometimes in a travel food are more expensive than the food we bring and bought.

Yeah you are right,it's not esay to carry food since the food are heavy. But i can understand your mom,the food in good place are very expensive. If you just travel one or two days you could take ,but if you have a long trip, better not.

I carry food to eat on planes, as most airline food is either disgusting, expensive, or even both! It really depends on where you are travelling. If you're likely to be in remote places for long stretches of time. it may be sensible to take a snack with you. If you're travelling in hot countries, always take water so you don't become dehydrated. I agree with you - I like to try the local food. However, I like to be prepared for anything, so I usually carry something. It doesn't have to be bulky or heavey - a cereal bar or a piece of fruit is enough to tide you over in emergencies.

I only bring snacks to China only but other country, I don't bring any foods because it will add burden to my load of hand carry or luggage. Many restaurants in China are not cleaned enough so I am afraid of loose bowel movements. But I suggest don't bring food and it is better to try it in any restaurants in any country. Try it. Tell your mom that you will eat anything that you see and will like to try it out but promise her that you will eat in good and reputable restaurant even in fast food chains. =)
