what cosmetic product do you regret buying?

Since I heard good reviews on the Everyday Minerals Brushes, specifically the flat top brush, I went ahead in buying their eyeshadow brush, eye kabuki, long handled kabuki, and the very famous flat top brush... but guess what, from the whole lot...I was only thankful I bought for the flat top, the rest caused me a lot of regrets. Not only did I pay a lot for shipping since I am from the Philippines, only to find out that I'll only want one product to stay, the waiting time for the shipment is just not worth it. The flat top brush was all worth it, but let me have a run down of the other brushes, which I wish I did not buy: the eyeshadow brush: too stiff, hold less pigments for application. the eye kabuki: too big for my Asian eyes? Where am I supposed to use this if not for my eye? Urgh! the long handled kabuki: the bristles were too long, hard to buff my face, I better stick to my flat top brush for application. Sad, with the time and money I spent for this brushes. What about you guys? what cosmetic products do you regret buying lately?

I am also from the Philippines and I'm a freelance makeup artist for more than a decade now. In the past, I also fell victim to buying items which I regretted purchasing. Before, I was inclined to purchase products based on the reviews that went with them. Now, I believe I'm a bit wiser as I personally MUST see and test these items before I buy them lest they will be just wasted spent money. Also, it is important to assess what things you really need and how often will you be using them. Some products out in the market tempt me so much like say, eyeshadows. However, I find it logical to exhaust my present supply first before actually buying some which I might be unable to use in the end. Bottomline here is, we need to realize that money hard earned should be well-spent and not just give in to spur-of-the-moment personal whims.

As a makeup junkie myself...am glad to hear from you. You are right about testing products personally, rather than buying them online and basing my decisions on somebody else's reviews. It's just sad that from where I am, I really don't have that much choices in our department stores (province). So that, the best option for me at the moment, is to buy stuff online... and to just check on reviews.

Hi again. I am also from the province and I agree it's really hard for us to choose from whatever limited array of products the "provincial" department stores offer. Still, I will have to stick to what I have expressed before. Perhaps, doing more research on whatever item that takes your fancy might help. Also, trusted products and labels will assure us of quality commodities. Just the same, be a smart shopper, always.

I regret of buying ellana products as it causes me allergic and not glowing.. It looks like a monster for me. I regret it so much. Right now, I stick to one brand which is luminare mineral makeup even in all brushes. I love it so much and I don't need to buy any other brand at all coz I don't want to spend money on waste things. I don't want to risk money anymore.

I also have Ellana and Barenaturals as local mineral makeup. Ellana's packaging is not worth the money. I mean, for me, packaging counts. Compared to Barenaturals, they were able to give justice to their product. Thank you for the response.
