I recently joined the Doubleday Book Club and when I saw one of Heather Graham's newest books, I jumped on it. Ms. Graham is so talented and so diverse that she manages to jump around different centuries in her many different books, with the settings and characters all unique to only that book. Her historical romances are just as wonderful as are her suspense and murder/mystery books. Keeping that in mind, here's a little sample of her newest called, "Nightwalker": "Jessy Sparhawk has seen firsthand how gambling can ruin people's lives. But one night, desperate for money, she places the bet that will change her life forever. Just as she's collecting her winnings, a man stumbles through the crowd, a knife protruding from his back, and crashes into her, pinninng her to the craps table."Of course, we all know a handsome, sexy private detective will be assigned to the case and there will be instant attraction! (That happens in all romance/suspense novels, right? Let's be real here!) Anyway, the last word on the dying man's lips whispered to Jessy was "Indigo." Okay. To pick up where we left off: "What neither of them realizes is that the nightmare is only just beginning. Because bodyguard Tanner Green may have been killed by tht knife, but his angry ghost isn't going anywhere--not without vengeance. Now, literally caught between the living and the dead, Dillon and Jessy have no choice but to forge ahead together. Their investigation will take them from the glitz of the Vegas strip into the dealings of the casino magnate Emil Landon, the man who signs both their paychecks, and out into the desert to a ghost town called Indigo, where past and present come together in a search for gold." "Years ago, blood was shed on that very ground, and now it looks as if history is about to repeat itself, with the living and the dead facing off for possession of a fortune, and Dillon and Jessy fighting not only to stay alive, but for the chance to build a future." I'm going to log out now and delve into my newest Heather Graham book . . . . ;-) Let me know if you think this book might be a good read or did I get a "booboo" judging it only on it's cover? Catch ya' later gators!

So Heather Graham has published lots of fiction already huh? Ive seen her name and her books on the bookshelves and it just made me wonder whether how her books are since I know her for being an actress. ..or maybe they just have the same name...? Anyway, I was curious enough to look at the synopsis but that's all. Im just more into the Judith McNaught kinda thing.^_^ Still reading from the description you posted, it might just be a good read. You seem to be also a fan of Heather Graham so that in itself is a treat. Enjoy your book.

Thanks for the response! I, too, enjoy a good Judith McNaught read; she is also an awesome writer. Some others you might be interested in are: Jude Devereaux, Nora Roberts (a/k/a J.D. Rob), Iris Johansen and Jayne Ann Krentz. They all write in a somewhat similar manner as Judith McNaught. Go to your local library and check out one of the writers books I have listed here and see what you think! You might add another favorite writer to your list!
