Has the internet helped you become closer to family who are OFWs?

It sure did... i remember when i was still working abroad... and i communicated with my husband everyday through chikka and yahoo messenger... i rarely called since that is the way we talked... saved us a lot of money... and email is like 100 times faster than snail mail...

I have relatives in abroad - but not from my immediate family, luckily we get to stick together :D But my relatives are also lucky since they are in abroad together as families :) The internet helps us keep in touch with each other so we don't miss each other too much. It also helps coordinate planning activities for when they visit back. And after their visits, we are able to upload/download/view albums online from the days they spent with us :) Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Hello mattwilkie, good day to you! Generally, I think the Internet really helped those OFW to be close with their relatives even from a distance because even they are very far from each other they can able to see and tak to his/her relatives. With the technology of the internet it really help to became close to each other. One good thing with the internet is very affordable which in public are very available and affordable even though you do not have a personal c0mputer where you can be able to go near a computershop and just rent. Here in our country computershops are very important to those standard because of the cost which really good. By the way, if ever the internet, computer and cellphones are not created it's very hard to communicate with your relatives and may be there are instances that your message didn't got by your relatives. Well, honestly I am very thankful with the internet and to those OFW from the Philippines who are really give much effort to keep our economy rise to the top!
