Is commitment more attractive to women?

Now I realize that people of both genders can be terrified of commitment or love it, but doesn't it seem sometimes as if more males promise the world and then run when it's time to plan long-term than females?

I actually think it's a 50-50 scenario. Nowadays both men and women are capable of doing the same things. Women today are just as much as men to be unfaithful, dishonest and uncommitted.

I believe that men and women both have positive and negative qualities and it all pretty much evens out. I'm kind of wondering if the commitment phobia is due to society's influence. Because a guy who's not into commitment is still looked at as "So what?" but if a woman does it, there's always some comment about it.
