Who else hates internet memes?

I personally cannot stand memes like Chuck Norris jokes, cat related humor, bad and unintelligible misspelling (especially when it is intentional), etc. I think they are stupid and anti-intellectual, and are just a sign of the stupidity and ignorance of the modern era. What do you think?

On the surface, memes are stupid and for the most part not even very funny. I defy anyone to "explain" a meme like LOLcatz in such a way that makes someone laugh. However, memes become funny because of the way people use them; sometimes they creatively work them into discussions in such a way that you'd never expect, for instance. LOLcatz is all about creativity, really -- coming up with the right caption for the right picture is not such an easy thing to do. Of course, for every creative use of a meme there are generally several not so creative ones which just contribute noise so I understand where you're coming from even though I don't agree with you.

There are so many memes, I find it hard to believe someone could say they don't like or enjoy at least one! I love most of them. I love to laugh and I am thoroughly amused by many of them. The Chuck Norris jokes are funny and I love those LOLcats! But my all time favorite memes are the rage comics/faces. I can go through those comics and laugh for hours!

Well, some of the new memes on the internet are good, others are stupid and should be stopped. I wouldn't say that it's "hate", but I would say it can be annoying. For example, as you said, misspelling, abbreviations, jokes, imagines. In order to counteract that you just have to spread what you think it good such as good memes. However did you release that spelling is a meme? Words can be spelled many ways but the dictionary says it can only be spelled such and such ways. We could spell words phonetically as in IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) or we could change how spelling is done in English.
