Personally I think I excel most in oral exams since I really love debates. :) How about you?

I think I prefer to express myself in writing. I used to hate some oral exams because there are people who really try to extract the most out of you when you are talking and they comment about every single thing you say. So for example if while talking you use a wrong verb or something like that they will point to that aspect and maybe make you lose your line of thought. In writing, however, you have the possibility to revise what you wrote.
I also think it depends a lot on the examiner!

Nice question really.
For me, it's kinda mixed bag. I prefer written exams, because I know whatever I write, it's more English and less technical substance. (I'm into the last year of IT Engineering, UNWILLINGLY) So, may be under the garb of decent writing skills, I try to cover up my far-from-correct knowledge. It's true that I've got so far (though I got down a year once) only because of this. If not for this, I know, I'd have been struggling in the first year itself!
However, irony holds that I've always excelled in my oral exams. I've never flunked in any of those. The reason could be a sense of comparison between us students on the part of the teachers. I ain't boasting, but I know that most of my classmates are not up to the mark when it comes to spoken English. (Though they ALL are way ahead of me in terms of knowledge.) And may be then they find me better, a fact confirmed by one of our teachers. And this type of comparison is never probable to happen in the written counterpart.

You're spot on!
Besides, during orals, teachers get a bit lenient, thinking that the poor chap might be knowing the answer, but cannot recall it because of nervousness. Lol, that's very convenient for me I must say. I mean, I just go on bragging, so much so that sometimes they feel the need to stop me! And if I'm wrong they feel I've at least studied a bit. Also let me reveal a secret, which at least worked for me! What I do is, I use quite 'indigestible' words, and an overtly fluent accent, deliberately. Yea that's sounding funny but those heavy words with some appealing writing approaches have even helped me in the written exams.
But the fact remains that I feel I'm a better writer than a speaker. I'm also passionate about writing. :-)

I think i will excel more in written exams.Because usually in my oral exams,i tend to be very nervous and due to that, some words produced from my mouth are not in the correct way that it should be.So i would prefer written exams than oral exams.

I am always prefet to oral as well as online exams. Its save my time for others jobs work. But i am not hate to written exam. Bcz its also a great experince for every students that they go to the exam room and sit there for the exam. In online exam you are not much bound to go exam center and must be sit there. You can take it at your home or office.

i excel in both the oral and written exams. the only difference is that written exams takes to much time, in preparation and all of that while in oral, it might be on the spot question. i have no problem at all in oral, actually i love speaking in front of the class.
but you know, when i was in grade school and high school, i am not really a good speaker in front of the class.

I remembered that i excel more in written exams. Because i likes to write more than speaking. So, my oral exams don't always have good results. I usually will only get a pass for my oral exams. But funny, i likes to debates and i always join debates in my school. I was still puzzled at this matter. As for my written exams, i always get excellence results because i feel more comfort to express in written exams..

Oh i'd say that i'm weak in debating, and i'm just fine with oral tests or exams. I think i can excel more in written exams compared to oral ones. This is one of my weak points indeed. I'll get nervous and a bit stressed up when it comes to speaking, especially it is for formal matters such as exams or public speaking. Perhaps this is because i'm just lack of confindence to speak up. On the other hand, i feel much more comfortable in writing exams and i believe i can did it better compared to oral exams. I can always scored in written exams but not always in oral ones (Ops, i'm not showing off here,hehe...just sharing the experience).

Most of the time i excel the most in written exam rather than oral exams, sometimes i excel also, because in written exam, your time is more so that you can think, whether oral many eyes are in to you, your performances is needed, but all of the exam i ever win , because i love my last course i caught in college, actually i have 3 oral test that i win, all of the three was all about the food and how to prepare it and present it to the guest.

I excel more in written exams as I don't really know how to speak in front of the examiners. My head just go blank when I face them :P
