I am six months pregnant and I just had an ultrasound today. The results say my baby is probably a girl. I am happy but just wondering if most ultrasounds are accurate. Someone told me that if the result of an ultrasound is a boy, then it is certain but if it’s a girl, and then there is still a chance that it could be a boy. What do you think? Anyway I am not so worried as I think I will have another ultrasound next time.

Well, I'm sure the baby has been born now. Was the ultrasound correct?

So did you have a baby girl? If so or a baby boy congratulations. I had an private ultrasound scan at a clinic when I was 17 weeks pregnant. They said 'boy' and the other ultrasounds confirmed that. He was a boy and now he is two years old. I saw a fetal medicine expert for a detailed ultrasound scan. He said 'girl' at 16 weeks pregnancy. All my later scans said the same thing. My daughter is now a month old. However I have one friend that was told she was having a girl but she had a boy. I met a lady on a bus that had that same experience as my friend. On an ultrasound at 16 weeks a boy and a girl look similar, after 20 weeks they look different. Therefore an ultrasound at 20 weeks usually says the correct gender.

The ultrasound my mother had when she was pregnant with me wasn't quite accurate. I was supposed to be an Eric Justin but it turns out I was an Erin Jasmine when I was born. lol. So they are pretty accurate but sometimes they can be off just a bit. Congradulations by the way!
