NEWS------ a Six year old boy grabbed the wheel after his father passed out because he had low blood sugar. the boy kept the vehicle from crashing until police could bring it to stop. the parent will be receiving a citation for the incident. is that fair for the parent to be givin a citation over something that was out of his hands because he wouldn't have known when the low blood sugar would strike. should he be given a citation because of it or should he be let off with warning?

no he should have been given a citation that officer needs to be more caring of other people. That man did not cause his blood sugar to go up so that officer should have been given a citation for no heart.

I would say that it is your job to eat healthy and I'm pretty sure if your close to passing out from low sugar then you would definitely feel lightheaded a bit. If you are disoriented in anyway then you shouldnt be driving.

In the state I am in if you are an insulin dependent diabetic you cannot get a commercial drivers license. While low blood sugar can sneek up on you it can also be prevented in most cases by diet and having an emergency stash of sweets with you at all times. My husband is diabetic so I have an idea of what I am talking about. I think that the parent should recieve a citation, because even though it was an accident. Diabetics know that they need to eat healthy and often or their sugar will drop. That man put not only his life in danger but also his child's and others on the road because he did not eat properly nor was he prepared for such an emergency. If you have blood sugar issues then you DO know when your sugar is dropping and when it is too high, so that is NOT an excuse.
