Good reasons to hide your child from the cops?

Just wondering. Not because I'm actually doing this. Someone took this kid into the wilderness to stop his chemo treatments because... they're all natural, or something. I think that's a rubbish reason for hiding a kid in the wilderness. If it comes at a particular cost to that child's health, and if the cops are going to put you under arrest when they get to you, what other reasons can we utilize?
I'm thinking, for one, if the kid is a touch... vampiric... they probably need some cool down time at Uncle Bobby's mountain cabin. What do you think?

Welcome to the Lot, Fod!
Parents must put their children first. God wouldn't have allowed mankind to develop cures for disease that are not intended to help keep a child alive.
On the other hand, many parents try to hide their children's crimes from the police, and this is a great disservice to the child and to society. We can't let children of any age thing the law doesn't apply to them, or that they don't need to accept the consequences to their actions. As part of society, we must accept society's rules. Those who don't are the reason our prisons are full beyond capacity!
