Birthday cakes are not definitely just for kids!! haha =D Even if i were to show up with a birhtday cake right in front of u on your bithday, u will be equally surprised as well as being happy.. hehe That's the magic of a birthday cake.. hehe ^_^ I dun usually have birthday cakes on my birthday because i dun enjoy 'blowing'.. haha =D BUt i do love cakes though, and i'm eating them whenever i feel like it.. hehe ^_^ Birthday cakes dun hold much meaning to me, because i'm eating them too often, that i might have taken them for granted?? hehe

Hi CK, Birthday cakes are for all ages. no matter if you are a kid or an adult as long as you can afford to buy cake for your birhtday it's okay. or if you can bake one for your kid and for yourself why not. cakes are already part of a birthday celebration and tradition. when it's my birthday my family buy the cake for me or my sister baked a cake for me. there will always be a cake in my birthday and my family. may i know your birthday please friend. thanks!

i love cakes or many sorts. birthday cakes aren't exclusively for kids. but when i was just a kid, i never had any birthday cake. i have 5 other siblings so it was considered a luxury to have one during my childhood. seriously, i had my first cake at 22 (three actually). i bought one for my guests and they gave me one. my housemates gave me another one. and i usually have since then. i don't buy them but friends and colleagues give them as presents. as you grow older, you view birthday differently. for me, it's a day to give a treat to the people close to my heart. i usually cook and buy other food to treat my colleagues and students. i need to prepare a budget for that. at times, i send money to my mom because we usually cook fo a family member's birthday even when they're away from home. in my circle of friends and in the office, we usually give a bouquet of flowers and a cake to the celebrant. if it's a guy, we try to find a present that suits him. as i wake up, i give thanks for another year of good life and if there's a mass on my birthday, i go to church and say my thanks there. for me, my birthday is the day of thanksgiving with family and friends.

LOL, yes, my mom never make a cake for my birth day. When i was a child my mom simply buy me a present. She some time cook Nasi Kuning ( well i don't know the english name, but it is actually a rice cooked with some thing so the color of the rice is yellow, with some chiken, egg, and other staff, it is a really yummy food) when my birth day come.

Birthday cakes are not just for kids. I like to give birthday cakes to friends every now and then even though they are already adults. It's not just for kids, it's for everyone who feels happy and thankful for another year added into their lives.

I haven't done anything big for my birthday for many years now. Some of my birthdays or the days preceding it are even filled with forgettable experiences. This year though, I decided to have a funny hat party and it was so much fun. It was actually quite immature, but I really didn't (and still don't) care LOL! I didn't have a birthday cake, but my sister's best friend owned the restaurant I had my party in, and she made my order of creampuffs into a creampuff tower with a candle on top for me to blow. I had a blast. I want next year to be just as awesome, or hopefully even more so.

I don't think birthday cakes are only for kids. I never cut a birthday cake when I was a kid. It is not a custom in the place where I live. My Dad compelled me to go to church on my birthday and my Mom mad sweet noodles for my birthday. My Dad also used to get toffees to distribute to my friends in school and my family staying in the neighbourhood. I started cutting cakes on birthdays after celebrating birthday with friends.

hello hazelrose... your sons are so good to give you a cake during your birthdays! they are so seet with their mom! well, on the past years, cakes are just for people who can afford to buy it! hehe that's why usually its only the rich who can have it, while the poor, just have a bread & pansit....hehe but what is important during birthdays is that we celebrate it with our loved ones and give our thanks to God for giving another year to us & taking care & guiding ud in the past years... thanks!

hi ckyera.. i dont think cakes r only for kids.. at our college we have a special way of celebrating b days.. they r brutal enough to make the b day boy cry.. like he did when he was born and the rest of us have fun .. usually the cakes are used in a conventional way by the kids. i mean they are meant to be cut and distributed to everyone around..(i even remember those days wen i was eagerly waiting for the blue berry cake :P ) but we in our college use it in a very unconventional manner.. we hardly eat the cake.. we let the b day boy cut the cake and then we smear the cream all over their face and allow him a bath with some cool drinks.. this is how i celebrate my b day ...it may sound weird but its real fun..

I don't celebrate my birthday since i was a kid. Normally my parents would have it together with my older sister's birthday. I am used into that way until i started to work and earn money on my own. I tend to celebrate my birthday each year by then by having a little party in the house with two cakes and more candles to blow!

Hi, Cykera! Yes, I still celebrate my birthday and just a few days ago I blew the candles for my 35th birthday with my mom who's 59th. We always celebrate birthday for each family member, even if it's only a small gathering, but the cake is always there. I guess it is because our parents have always bought us birthday cakes since we were little and it becomes a tradition in the family. To me, a birthday cake is a symbol that we appreciate life as we celebrate another year and be thankful. That's just my opinion as why my family and I still celebrate birthdays.

The cake has always been the best part of my birthdays. I always ordered one with a beautiful picture on it and it had to be chocolate. Now I'm 19 and I can bake my own cakes, so I do. I make cakes during the year too but on my birthday I make myself a chocolate cake with candles. I think everyone should get a birthday cake for their birthday, no matter how old they are. It's a tradition.
