What three things would you like, but can't afford right now? Not necessities.

I would like to have a swimming pool, but can't afford one. Non-poluted water sources and even pools where you pay a fee for a day are many miles from my home and would really cost in gas. I wish I could just go in the back and go swimming. It's not just buying the pool that is expenstive, but the upkeep. Still, I wish I had one. Nursing shoes, the best ones, so my feet would not hurt for a change. They say as you get older, the pads of your feet wear thin. My feet and my knees think my walking is a traumatic experience right now. They feel like they've gotten thin. Everything else got fat. A huge green house or high tunnel. Actually, I would like two, but I can't even afford one. One for just wild berries and other wild food and the other for garden veggies and to start small fruit trees. So what three items do you wish you had the $ for right now?

That could be a really long list. But on the top would be a new computer and new car. Those are the big most expensive ones.

Yes, soon I will need a new computer. I hope to pay off my current car soon. Those are big expense items. If I didn't have my car to pay off, I probably could buy one of the items on my list! Thanks for sharing and take care.

I desperately want my own place, I need to live alone, I need my independence so I wish I had the money to at least put a decent deposit down on a place where I don't have to share with anyone. I would also love to have the money to fly to New Zealand, it's a country I've only wished of visiting, being the other side of the world from me, it's a country that has for a long time fascinated me, I would want a guided tour so I wouldn't miss anywhere. And finally I would love a big flat screen television, I only have a portable in my room, so would love a much bigger one and a new one too as my portable is years old now!

Interesting list. I hope you're able to get your own place. If you're able to get that first one, once that is paid off, maybe the others will come to you. Take care.

Number one on my list is a small house in the country, with some privacy and a space for a garden. The next is a pickup! I always need to haul things and my car is too small. I usually wind up waiting for my son or someone else to do it for me. Third... I'm not sure, but a new desktop computer would be nice. I've been making do with a laptop for months now, and I don't know how much longer it's going to last.

I have the first one, my husband has the second, and sounds like a lot of people here could use the third one including me. Read my advice to #9 above, don't know if it helps anyone, but it's advice. I hope you're able to get your desires in the future, take care.

Thank you. I live near a college and have found a few things when the kids leave for the summer, but never a computer. I don't need much of anything else, so I don't look often enough, maybe.

wow, can i only state three things? there are so many things i want but cannot afford right now. first and foremost is a second property for investment. i'd love to be able to afford another property to collect rental income. the second thing i'd love to have is solar panels. i get glorious sunlight at home for at least three quarters of the year. if i can harness those solar power i'd be able to save tons from utilities. sadly, solar panels are still very expensive. the third thing i wish i had the money for right now will be a car. the public transport system in my country still need a lot of improvement. if i can afford the car i want now it means i no longer have to tolerate rude people on the public transport system.

it's so nice to have some reimbursement for such installations in your country. sadly that's not the case in my country. the government is only beginning to look into alternative energy sources. the reimbusement is currently for commercial highrise buildings only. here where i am, we have buses that goes anywhere and everywhere although it takes a really long time too. we also have a train system to goes to most areas. it's the software, not the hardware that riles me. cars are a luxury here because it takes a maximum of three hours on a bus to get from one end of the country to the other end.

I'm surrounded by trees, mine and my neighbor's so solar wouldn't work for me, but we have tons of wind, so windmills would work for me. Here, the government will reimburse 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50% of alternate energy cost installation(depends on a lot of factors), but you have to have the $ in the first place. Also, the rest is usually tax deductible, but it depends on the year and state the person is in. Maybe your government has some kind of program to help you afford it. It's worth looking into. Many places have some kind of help so that people can have alternative energy. Here, either we have a car or we can't get to work. The bus runs don't work for employment, only for people with disabilities who go shopping. A bus here comes at 9:45 and doesn't arrive anywhere until 11am, then you have to catch another bus to get to a job. So you could have a job for 12 noon, but you could only work until 3 or 3:30, so you could catch the buses or bus back. So cars where I live are a necessity. It's nice for people with disabilities or who don't have jobs and can't afford a car, we didn't even have that for a long time. Sorry the people on public transit are rude where you are. Buses are such a treat and only affordable once a week for most of the people who use them up here, it's more like a social gathering. A rental property would be a good idea, too. Two of your wishes are pretty neat because they would either pay you back or save you money. I like your list. Thank you very much for responding and take care.

I understand totally living paycheck to paycheck. I'm sooo right there right now. Maybe the the third thing you can read by looking at the list of others. Fixing a house up is a lot of $ and work. I know, before this recession, we were doing that. Thank you for your response, I hope your knees feel better soon. Strangely enough, mine are better with stairs and lots of them. Builds muscle on the sides of my knee caps. Everyone is different, take care and thanks again.

Oh there are just too many things that I'd like to get, if like money won't be an issue. First off, I'd like to get a really, really nice house.. Not much of a mansion, but a superb house, where almost everything is in there.. Second, I'd like to have my own Bentley Continental GT, convertible, something like Nicole Scherzinger's sleek car.. It's damn so hot.. Lastly, I'd like to buy my own franchise of a really good Spa for business.. There are just too many on my lists, but these are the top most at the moment..

I would love to have a car, a house and lot and a resort! Whew! that's a lot of money.. but you know what, i am really positive i can have all of those in due time, that is why i am starting to save right now.. Because i believe it is nice to dream of things but the greatest challenge is to make it real and achieve those things that we really love.....

I like your list. We all need a vacation every now and then, most of us need a newer car from time to time and bath tubs, I hear you. I have one now but the water won't stay in and it's too short.

Good list. I've seen hot tubs by pools, but the tv will need to be elsewhere for safety. No one knows how much different posts are worth. It's a complex secret formula. Just post a little daily and eventually, you get to $10.

Well for one I am on a computer that my son got for me when they upgraded the computers where he works, sometimes it works sometimes it don't so that would be my first choice to just be able to sit down and not have to fight this thing. Like you I can't afford it as we are on a fixed income and I guess I should just feel lucky that I have one at all. Second yes I would love a pool in the back yard, it don't have to be a inground pool, but I did have one in Fla. when I lived there it was so nice to have. But the up keep is expensive that is for sure. Third I would like to have a nicer kitchen range, this one we got sometimes the cakes come out one inch high, really makes me mad. And oh yes a hot tub, one of those ones they show you doing the exercises in. I love hot tubs we had jets in the bathtub back home before the hurricane, but all is lost now.

Sounds nice, I hope someday you can at least get a better computer. A friend of ours went to a nearby college. The kids throw stuff out on the curb when they leave. She found a lap top computer that works great. All she had to do was plug it into her wall and it ran. So if there are any colleges near you that have a policy like ours of 5 days before anything is picked up that you can take what you want. Saves the college the expense of having all halled away. A friend of mine said she had relatives that replaced their living room with stuff they found when the college students were leaving. None of it matched until she covered it. Some people throw more stuff away than we ever had!

I would love to have a winning lotto ticket for $45-60 million. I have so many programs and charities that I would love to help with the money...I would also love to have a house rather than to live in a mobile home that is older than dirt. Finally, I would love to have a trip around the US and the world. (I don't want much do I? )

I actually have a long list but since you asked for three then I would give my top three. First I would like I and my husband to have our own dream house. That is not a necessity that much because we are renting at the moment but then we can't afford to have our own house. Next would be a car of our own. It is not a necessity because we can always commute everyday but then it is nice to have your own car especially when you want to have a long vacation with a kid and lots of personal belongings. Lastly would be an apple computer because we have a Toshiba right now and my husband really loved Apple more than anything else. So I guess that makes my three wishes. Hope to have them soon! In my dreams!
