I myself do not like skipping any of the two. I personally love eating. But I know few friends who do this. I think they dont like to eat but they say it is sometimes good for health to skip either of them.
Do you think my friends are right ? Skipping dinner or lunch once in a while really helps ?
What is your opinion ? I am sure people who love to eat will never agree with my friends !!!

well if i eat a large lunch i sometimes eat a very light dinner and sometimes i am so busy at work that i skip lunch annd then i am so hungry at dinner. I know it is bad to skip meals that it messes up your metabolism but sometimes we have no choice. if i sleep late i might have a combined lunch and breakfast.

yes having your meals at wrong time, hampers your metabolism rate, which then leads to obesity or weight gain. Thus it is very important to have all the 6 meals or at least 4 meals in a day that is Breakfast, Lunch, snacks in evening(like Tea and biscuits) and finally dinner! This diet will keep you healthy your entire life.
Cheers!

I never skip eating between the two , I'm afraid
of my mind if what happens If I could not eat.
I got head ache If I skipp eating and I will be sick.
I used to follow the correct meals in order to have
a balance lifestyle. They say that the result of skipping
meals will be insane , I dont want to be a foolish person.

I do not skip any lunch or dinner since I do not eat any breakfast. I think I cannot survive if I skip any one of the two. My breakfast is nothing but coffee so skipping lunch would not be an option. Dinner is likewise very important for me since I cannot sleep when I am feeling hungry.

thanks for your response. That is nice, I used to follow the same way as you do now. But now I have been asked to have 6 meals (small ones) a day!! That is eating something every 2-3 hours :-D My dietician says it will help to keep your BMR high. BMR is basic metabolism rate !!

I love to eat too, the only meal I make sure I never skip is breakfast because it is good to eat breakfast. the rest of the day I just eat when I am hungry, not according to meals or time. Only when I am eating with someone and stuff do I eat an actual meal. I love sncking that i smy favorite so usually I just snack instead of sitting down and eating a full meal twice a day.

I do skip lunch alot of times. I just never get around to eating or I do it to lose some weight. The other reason is I do not find anything in my house to eat for lunch so I just skip eating lunch.

Even I am eating less these days in order to lose weight. But I have learned that starving does not help at all in weight loss in healthy way. You will lose weight but you will lose your freshness and conscious as well :-D that is you will start feeling weak and dizzy very often !!

I never skip lunch or dinner. I cut back on what I eat at lunch or dinner but I do not skip them. I think it is better to cut back and not skip the meals completely. I heard it is better to eat more times a day then it is to overdo a meal or skip eating completely.

i don't skip any of the two generally. i'm the kind that believes in listening to my own body. if i feel hungry i will definitely eat. similarly, i will not eat if i don't feel hungry. to me, eating when not hungry is a recipe for indigestion and nausea. so yes, i've skipped a meal or two when i'm upset or angry but i won't do it for any other reason. cheers

I skip lunch or dinner but not that often. If I ate breakfast very late in the morning, i can skip lunch. If i have snack late in the afternoon, i can skip dinner. But since i see to it that dinner is a bonding moment with my family even if im full i take a bite so i can still enjoy the moment with them.

hi pupupd :D
I personally love eating as well.. hehe! but if your friends are telling you that it is healthy to skip either of the meals.. I disagree on that one. People need to eat for them to sustain their body needs. I sometimes skip dinner not because I want to.. but because I'm to tired from work and when I arrive home, I usually fall asleep in an instant. As much as possible.. do not skip meals.. it's a big no for me.
happy mylotting :)

I am awful with eating. I often skip meals because I am either busy or not hungry. sometimes I will just eat some baked tortilla chips with salsa for dinner. I love to cook but not to eat. I do have my days where I can't feel satisfied and then I have to be careful to not overeat! it is a crazy cycle.

I'm more prone to skip breakfast than lunch or dinner. Actually I don't really label my meals, I just eat when I'm hungry. Haha.

I do often skip breakfast actually. Then I have a full lunch, and dinner is usually smaller. I will usually either go out to eat dinner, or just eat somethign small like a hot dog or cereal for dinner. Im not a big eater myself. I dont know why.

I would like to add something here. I do skip lunch at times, since I come from a marketing background and I do get late as I have to visit my clients. But I never skip a dinner.
As a matter a fact, skipping a lunch is not a good practice because it could cause a gastric disorder in the future.

I usually do not skip either one though sometimes lunch is very small, maybe more like a snack. I do believe once you get past breakfast which they say is the most important meal of the day, then the other two are optional depending on your level of hunger.

I disagree with your friends. I don't disagree because I love eating. It's more from a health standpoint. Your body needs fuel to keep functioning. Food is your body's fuel. I know sometimes people just don't feel like eating because I have days like that myself, but at least have a cup of water and some fruit-something light!

When I'm alone I often skip lunch or dinner. Part of reason is I am doing something and forget to eat. And other part is I am lazy to prepare. But when my wife is around me, she never allow that happens. She always emphasize the importance of each meal.

I fairly often eat a larger meal at 3 or 4pm and use that as both lunch and dinner. I don't know if its good for your health or not, but I find that I'm not hungry before bed even if I eat early like that. Most of the studies I've read say it's best to eat a bunch of little meals or snacks in a day, not keeping to specific meals, but I just feel like I'm always eating when I do that and it's hard when you have to do things like work.
